We're back but haven't yet picked up the kids from grandma's house. It was a nice getaway despite the rain which yesterday was drenching. I really felt bad for the wedding that was held at the hotel yesterday.....it was supposed to be on the lawn overlooking the Newport bridge but had to be moved indoors.

We lucked out by arriving early......the room they had planned to give us wasn't going to be vacated until much later in the day so they upgraded us to a suite!! We actually had 2 floors.....downstairs was a living room with a balcony and had windows overlooking both the bridge and the city of Newport.....upstairs was the bedroom and that view was also of downtown Newport and the harbor. We had a lovely dinner in the city.....a few drinks in the hotel...and just relaxed. On our way home today we took a detour and stopped at Foxwoods. No big jackpots but we both pretty much broke even.

Plans for the rest of the week are not firm yet because we're waiting to hear what the baseball playoff schedule will be for Matt. There were makeup games yesterday but all were rained-out. I'm hoping we can get to Six Flags.

Elaine - sounds like you had a great trip!! I don't know if my DH would go w/ me on those things.

Gail - a suite and you didn't call any angels to join in!!!! I wouldn't get that lucky - they would have probably put me in the janitor's closet.

Lorraine, Luis doesn't go to all the meets with me. Out of all the Chicago meets I have been to, Luis has only been to one. It depends on his mood if he will go or not. He is friends with some now so he is more likely to go to some.

I'm Back!

Apparently the computer was damaged by lightning. The repair guy showed DH on the mother board where it was damaged. I guess for $100-200 more than the repair price we can get a new computer. I think DH is going to order from Dell. Meanwhile, I am back online for the time being. I could dissappear at any time though. We wonder if this is why we had modem problems with the cable too.

Marsha, sounds like you got a great box from CS.

Both kids are gone and the sun is shining on them. I am glad they will have nice weather.

Are we chatting tonight? No one to complain if I stay on all night.

Uh oh....

Logan's best friend just came over to swim for a while and he is sporting a brand new shiner. I asked him how he got it, and he said that he and Logan were wrestling the other day. **sigh** These boys drive me nuts. I guess I owe a call to his mother. I'm sure she will just laugh it off. This explains why Logan didn't want to stay longer at his friend's house the other day.

Carol, do you have one of the surge protectors that has a "warranty" on it? You know the ones that will replace up to $10K or whatever if lightening strikes and the electronics are damaged? I think those are the only ones I get. Never had them fail yet (knock on wood)

We just found out that Matt is not playing tomorrow so we're heading to Six Flags in the a.m. I'm not sure if I'll be riddling depending on how early we leave. I did try to send OK a PM for today's riddle but his box is full.
