Well, we did it. We test drove the used Taurus I found for sale by owner. It seemed pretty nice. 1996, green, 110,000 miles. Runs well. We made a deal with the seller. We have to get a cashiers check and he will bring it over on Monday. Looks like we won't have to play musical cars anymore and DD will have one to take to school.

Congrats on the new addition to the family Carol!

Melissa - I think it's a guy thing. They think in the present and tend to forget what happened in the past, even though it was only 20 minutes earlier! Except of course sports scores...they can recite scores from 20 years ago without missing a beat.

Hello all, taking 5 minutes out from chores! Had a very nice chat with Melissa (Gaspode) earlier. She is a sweet thing! Even if she does hate spiders and sharks.

Pete is definately having the interview on the 27th, I just got that call. They want him to fly in on Friday and then they are going to take hime out to dinner and then he can come home on Saturday! It seems like a real sure thing. Hmmm, best be looking at those FL houses more closely! Maybe I better start ebaying things, too.

Carol, welcome to the world of "Mom, your car is in the way, can you move it? or Mom, your car was in the way, so I used it, sorry there's no gas left!" It is so much nicer to have the extra driver, she can run her brother all over now.

SB - have fun with the relatives, do any of them qualify for the senioir discount? Now that I am a card carrying member of AARP, I think I can use it at IHOP and Dennys, and of course St Perkins!

My back has been killing me all day yesterday and today, I can't take a deep breath and I can't turn it. It is very uncomfortable, Iwish it would stop. I have had it happen 4 times over the last couple of years, it's like a giant gas bubble under my shoulder blades toward the spine. Off to take some more drugs, the legal kind.

See you all later.

Hiya!

Just a quick post to say Marsha's a sweet thing too!! (but what's wrong with hating spiders and sharks? !!!)

Also ***hugs*** hope you feel better soon!

Cya,
Gaspode

 Evening all... I think it is about time I told you all something. I have been having one heck of a week with pain and fatigue. I went to the doctor several months ago to get my thyroid checked and right then and there she didn't think it was anything like that. She did some pressure checks and everywhere she pushed it hurt. She didn't want to say anything until the bloodwork came back and it showed absolutely nothing off with anything. So the guess is (after ruling out most everything else they could think of) would be fibromyalgia (a terrible word for someone who is dyslexic :p) So when you hear ofme being tired it is that. It's nothing I can seem to push back, and with the weather keeping mem from walking (that seems to help) and a certain time of the month (which makes all symptoms worse for me) coming up, I am wiped a lot of the time. So if I don't reply or seemingly ignore you, don't be upset with me... I just don't feel like typing a lot.

I hope that all makes sense. So with that I will quietly go away for a while to relax :)

Hey E! Glad that you have a diagnosis for your symptoms....sometimes that is half the battle. How do they treat it?
Hoping you're feeling better, and more rested soon.

(((((hugs)))))))

Steph, that's the cruddy part to all of this... the treatment is with either OTC pain killers, Rx pain killers (hurt my stomach) or anti-depressants (apparently help bring energy or something... no matter what I personally am not interested... friends who have it have agreed with me on that choice). So I stick to the OTC pain killers although I haven't had any today

I hate this weather, living under flood warning when it's been almost a year since the last one is not my idea of fun

Fibromyalgia is one of those hard to diagnose, hard to treat diseases. I have taken courses about physical therapy for it. I will try to find my notes and see if I can offer any suggestions. Hope you feel better, E.

I'm sorry to hear you've been feeling crummy E but I'm glad you do have a diagnosis. A close friend also deals with fibromyalgia and he has good days and difficult ones. I believe he is also using OTC medications.

Your angel pals will always be ready with lots of (((((hugs)))))))

Thanks Carol & Gail! They do seem to be stuck on this one and really we ran out of options for what the problem could be. The doctor thought it would partially be hormonal, but at the same time the pain wasn't explained. Truthfully I wasn't too fond of this doctor I went to. When I said I get cold easily, especially my hands, she said "Oh women get that way often" I am really turned off doctors for a while because of her. In the last few months I have done a lot of reading on this from the internet. I just recently started talking to others about it too.

Carol, I would love to hear anything you have on this!! I did notice that when I was walking a lot at WDW I actually felt better. Someone else I talked to said when she makes herself keep going, she feels better. It doesn't make sense (or does it?)

Makes sense to me.....when she makes herself keep going it gives her a sense of control over an illness that's hard to diagnose and to treat. The idea of walking, or any form of exercise also makes sense in helping you feel better.

:D Evening All! Although I think everyone has gone to bed by now.

Carol - is the car a LIME GREEN color?

Elaine - (((hugs))) to you. What a frustrating thing to go through. I'll start walking to help you also.

Marsha - my back was bothering me big time last week. It lasted almost 3 days. It hurt to do almost anything. Hope you feel better!

Gaspode - I don't really have a phobia about spiders, but I do hate them w/ a passion. I always grab DH's magazines and kill them w/ it.

Stephanie - Marsha never called me a "sweet thing" either. :(

E! I hope that you get a handle on this, so that you feel better soon.

Marsha, I hope that your back feels better soon too!

Thanks all...

I really have to tell a little funny story. When I went to the doctor... she did all these tests (I was almost sure it was thyroid and she wasn't, but she did the test to rule it out) and she said she thought I ether had something with my ovaries or something like that, that my GYN would have found immediately (I really truly do not remember what that one was called anymore since it was already ruled out). The other one she mentioned I totally forgot the name of. It took a friend to talk to me and mention the name again for me to go "THAT's IT!!!!" I knwo I could have called and found out but I rememberd that OTC pain meds was what was mentioned as the suggested start treatment so I figured what was the point. So for a month or so I totally forgot the name of this  Now I just have to figure someone else out to go to for a while because I am not fond of the last one I went to.

Again thanks... it's been on my mind for a few months but the last few days have been bad for me.

I need to go now though, I have to get up early for dress shopping for a friend's wedding :)

Masha, I so forgot to say, I hope your back feels better soon! I have big big trouble with mine and my neck hurting often!

We're not getting older, we're just getting age impaired. :teeth:

Hope you guys get to feeling better soon. Know that I am always willing to listen. Sometimes it helps to just cry on a shoulder a little when you hurt.

I've had a crick in my neck for several days. I sort of think I pulled something. Now it is going down into my armpit, too. I need to go visit my mom's boyfriend. He's a chiropractor and can fix things like this for me, but he's got stitches in his foot so I hate to bother him.

Good morning!

Getting ready to head to NJ but we won't be leaving for a few hours. We're going to a surprise party for a friend.

Both kids had wonderful school years and came home yesterday with great report cards!!!

Morning! Seems like I haven't posted for ages. We are going to my nephew's graduation party today. He was #2 in his class! Very smart kid.

Elaine, I am so sorry to hear that you have been feeling yucky, but at least now you know the cause of it. Tons of {{{hugs}}} for you.

Leah's dance recital was last night. I will post a picture maybe tomorrow of her in her costume.

Gotta run!
