Do you usually stay on-site, E? If so, just run the numbers. It doesn't take long to figure out how much cheaper it is with DVC. Once we started staying on-site, we couldn't go back to off-site. Then we stayed in a studio at OKW, and decided we HAD to have at least that! LOL, our big mistake was staying in a 2 bedroom villa at OKW our first DVC owner's trip! Now we never stay in anything smaller than a 1 bedroom. Once the initial DVC is paid for, you are basically staying for your maintanence fee each year. For us, that is less than $1000, and we have enough points to go in a 2 bedroom for 10 days or more if we want. Last year we did WDW for 5 days in a 1 bedroom and 5 in a 2 bedroom and still had enough points for a Hawaii exchange. WE always rejected timeshares too, but this is as much like a timeshare as WDW is like a local variety amusement park! No comparison!Originally posted by helenabear
True... very true! What dad wouldn't love two gifts????I think DVC came up again because of my sister and also if we have kids, this will be our family vacation year after year and it will be easier if you have the room to begin with (IMO) I don't know though... I need to talk and think a lot on this one.
