Bernies Angels, our new summer home

Elaine, I'm sorry this whole family trip thing has gotten you so upset. I agree with you, your brother seems to have had an agenda in his head all along. Stick with what you think is best for you, and I know your dad will understand. You shouldn't be forced to go cruising if it isn't really what you want to do. It would be a lot of money, and to have to leave Luis at home, that would rule out the family vacation right there! I vote for you and Luis traveling to WDW with your dad - you will have a much better time!

I love to cruise but don't like Bermuda so I wouldn't go either. Truthfully, your brother really wants to please his wife, not plan a family vacation. So be it. Please yourself....and don't feel guilty. I certainly wouldn't.

LOL.....here's a very good "double clue" for you.......

COURTNEY LOVE!!!!

A lot of times I don't get the clues until after I have the answer

My earlier post was just to comment that Marsha had unknowingly(?) given the answer and then asked for a clue! :p

Elaine - good for you for not giving in and going on the cruise! I say just tell them how you really feel. We are all grownups and can make our own decisions. Last year I finally told my DH that I didn't want to go to the beach anymore w/ his family and ours. It wasn't fun, and I wasn't getting any family time w/ our kids. Now it is my vacation to myself every August!

Thanks Diane for all your hints !

You all have me feeling so much better!!! Gina, I won't lie... the idea of going to Bermuda doesn't appeal to me... it kind of weirds me out, so I have little desire to go there. But that aside, I don't want to go on a cruise anyway :p I'm picky aren't I? I think deep in my heart I was hoping for either Canada or the Eastern Seaboard somewhere (I'm still for the HH with Disney resort ;) :p)

Alan, I am like you... most clues don't make sense until after I have figured out the answer.... especially that Courtney Love one!!!

Lorraine, good for you for sticking up for what you want!!! I think the family vacations should be ones where you get to spend time iwth the kids (if you want to). I know ours mostly were like that and it woudl be odd to do it any other way.

Elaine, I sure hope your brother still isn't planning on you sharing the cost of your Dad's cruise!

Yep.

It's noon and I'm bored.

I also figure that if we can get the riddle to 100, we can maybe get a WOOO HOOO out of Indy.

Little things for little minds!

LOL, Gina! I am trying to avoid getting at grooming Duffy! I have to teach this afternoon, so I hate to have to take TWO showers!

Fortunately, Diane, I think my sister might have raised some money issues so my brother said he will buy dad's ticket. That's fine by me :)

Gina, yes COURTney Love makes worlds of sense to me now!

I admit this one nearly made me spit my soda!

I was thinking maybe a few of you could help me. I was thinking of looking into DVC and a few of you are DVC. I don't even know where to begin, what to expect the costs to be and how the heck we could afford to pay it (do they do payment plans?) I like going 2 times a year I think or once for really long (studio or 1 bedroom for 14 days out of the year would work). I am beginning to think this would be a pipe dream so if any of you would like to share your experience with me I'd appreciate it. And be brutally honest... squishing dreams early is good to me ;) Oh and as much as I really did like OKW, I must say I love the Epcot area. My sister just brought it up when she saw my new plates and it got me thinking again.

When she saw that you could afford expensive dental work, she figured you could afford DVC? ;)

Anyone who goes twice a year, or even once a year and stays on-site, can hardly afford NOT to do DVC! We figure it paid for itself in three years. Then we added on more points! Yes, they do payment plans if you buy direct from Disney, but resales are a better deal. Since few people resell right after purchasing, you would probably be looking at BWV if you want a hotel experience in the Epcot area. I personally don't do studios, since that is too much like a hotel. We only do 1,2, or 3 bedroom units at OKW. We like the private entrance etc.

LOL Alan!!! You are too funny... license plates ;) I got my new ones this weekend

Anway, thanks Diane. I know it is kind of pathetic to ask about a payment plan but the last time we chuncked down that kind of money (downpayment on a house), Luis was laid off and I am so wary to spend that kind of money all at once. I figure a small loan (especially with interest rates the way they are) would make me much more comfortable. I'll have to plug some numbers and see what Luis is comfortable with. I was thinking BWV myself since I love the location. I never thought I would be going to WDW this often to even think about it. But the reality is there and if I can find a way to make it cheaper then so be it. I guess I am not minding the studios because I thought they were great (good size and still cheaper than the regular rate) for me. A fridge and a microwave is a bonus to me in a room :p

Always money to spend and things to think about :teeth:

  We were halfway down page 2........CS where are you to rescue us! ;)

Lots happening here today....time to catch up!

E! I have been on the tour of the Boardwalk Viilas, they are AWESOME...... I can't justify buying into it, (especillay now being unemployed) with DH being so anti WDW, but if you buy directly from WDW, it is conidered a mortgage and you can write off the interest.

And, just what do those new plates say?????

You caught up yet, Gail ;)

We are still talking. I was telling my dad and he is wary of it. Then again he is wary of all time shares... what if you don't use it and all (HA!!! Give me air and with my AP I am GONE!) I am not sure what will come of it, but we will certainly see.

Oh and the plate now reads DZNY FRK ;)
