Sounds like lots of good ideas for WillyJ in fulfilling his riddlecon buddy duties for Gail .... I'll have to get on the meets board and get me a buddy ...... sent a PM a looooong time ago when this all started but that's probably null and void by now

Going to catch some fireworks tonight .. otherwise a rather laid back 4th planned here ...... and that's a good thing !!

DD is home from camp and had a great week. I am so glad she went back. She really enjoyed herself and can finish her camping days on a good feeling. Thanks to those who e-mailed her. She was surprised.

Having chicken kebobs on the grill after all the talk about them the other night. Will save hot dogs and hamburgers for tomorrow when family gets together.

Happy 4th Everyone! We just got back from my BIL's house. We had a nice cookout w/ chicken, turkey burgers, hot dogs and kebobs! Kebobs must be the thing to have this holiday! I stuffed myself and had a few smirnoff's to wash it down with. A major storm passed by around 6:30 so we decided to come home and if it stops we will just walk to the local fireworks.

Hi all, finally back from my dad's. It was a nice day spent with my family, but unfortunately we were rained out of our fireworks celebration here

WE had a great holiday! DD, DS and his SO, Dad and Stepmom, and a divorced friend and her teenage son were here for shish kabobs, fruit, salad, and general good times. We went to the Twins game in the evening, and skipped fireworks, because I have a dog show today. I have just washed Duffy, and now I need to get in the shower myself, and head out to the local dog show. Have a great weekend, riddlers!

Good Morning, All! Just out of the shower and ready for another swim meet.....AGAIN! LOL! We have 4 this week....actually 6 if we could figure out how to be in 2 places at one time!!!

Nice day yesterday. Guys got a little nuts with the fireworks though.....made me nervous....so we cut it short and headed home.

Nice curtain Diane, I really need to go check out my disney curtain....from the backside!!!!!

We had a very very quiet forth....we stayed home all day....it was wonderful not to be running to one function after another. Watched the BGN race and was pleased Jr. did so well....led from lap 1 to 100....boring for those who aren't Jr. fans....



We'll make up for it tonight though, it's the Pepsi 400, so you know...we're off to watch the race with friends, BBQ, and order the lumber for our new deck.

All the boys head to camp tomorrow....first time they've ALL gone at once....kinda sad.



On another note....I've really enjoyed seeing WMPete post more frequently.

Good morning everyone!

We had a small cookout last night for just DH, DD, her BF, and me. Had kebobs, rice, and green beans. Went to a nice fireworks display in the next town, which is in the next state.

Today, we'll have the tradtitional hot dogs, hamburgers, deviled eggs, potato salad, corn on the cob, watermelon and s'mores. DS will get back, plus my SIL and nephew, and my Mom.

We are having SERIOUS computer problems again. Never got fixed 2 weeks ago, they just improved for a while. DH is going to order a Dell, but we leave for vacation Friday morning. SO....if I dissappear, you will know what happened to me.

I am distressed that the Sun Goddess opening may have to wait. I will NOT take all those packages to the library to open them online.

I am upset with my one dog, Susie, this morning. She went out in the backyard and killed a bunny. I saw her get the bunny, (now no laughing - this is sad) and went running out to the back fence, in my short summer nightgown, screaming like a banshee. I was too late. DH had to go out and take care of the remains. Darn dog.

I am going to send aout a few PM's with my phone number so I won't be completely lost if the computer dies. Or send me yours.

...hope everyone had a wonderful (and SAFE) 4th of July!! We were at my nephew's Confirmation party (at his grandparent's house)....mucho "eats" but no b-b-q (all catered). One of the desserts was OUTSTANDING, though. It was a chocolate pudding, banana/rum torte!! YUMMY!!!!

Well, I am having to dis from the DR, we took the guest room apart yesterday and the outlet at the computer desk came apart, literally. I have to charge the battery, I did get to read some of this last night. I have to shut the power off at the breaker box and replace the recep. But the better news is the room is totally repainted, recarpeted and a lot neater. Pictures later. I wouldn't let Pete put Ian's cook books back in the closet, they are going into the garage, he must have 50. I also bought a few of those plastic storage bucket things, so it is a lot tidier in the closet. The bad news is I am having sever pain in my back again, I believe it is gall bladder related, so I guess next week I will be going in for a test, if they can schedule it. I took 2 percosets to relieve the pain, it helped but not much. Today, we do the master BR. It will be easier, only recarpeting, no painting, no papering. The office will be last, untill the garage gets cleaned out (anyone want a water bed frame, left over plywood underlayment, old stuff that you "might need someday"? ) it can't get done. Too many boxes! We are not pack rats, are we..................

Thanks, Kim! Strange thing, when I went out yesterday to get a blind for the guest room window, what did I see (and have to buy), but a wooden MONKEY, he sits on the dresser, and is wearing a fez. Now DH is going to bring home a wall hanging, Monkeys relaxing under palm trees. Sheesh, me and my big mouth!

That dessert sounds yummy. Did you get the recipe from the pastry chef? Or at least the caterers name and website so's we can all ask for it?
