You are not kidding about the price of French Horns. I almost choked when they said it would cost around $1,700 to buy one for Logan. Luckily, the school has a supply of them, so it was first come, first served, and he is able to borrow one of them. I guess they purchase the bigger instruments and loan them to the kids in order to get someone to play them.

Lorraine I am sorry to hear that DH has to have a roommate. I only enjoy that when I want to have one and pick who it is.

LK, only $1700... must have been a starter one. The one that I would want is $4800.... a good brand though but I need to have one that has the B flat trigger on it as well (a double horn). Those are too expensive. The dream horn for me is about $7800

Didn't get back home from my ride until 2:00! It was out on the country roads. Didn't see anything but cows and cornfields!
We had a fantastic weekend here, but it looks like rain in the forecast.

My DS plays on GamesGrid. He also goes to all the tournaments.
The big one was over the 4th of July in Michigan.

It was a chatty day here and a busy, nice one for us. We just got home but with no kids! They're staying overnight in Mystic with our NJ friends who they call Aunt (or Ant!) Jill and Uncle Jerry and their "cousins", who are Jerry & Jill's DD & SIL.

Today we all took a drive to a CT campground (Strawberry Park for those who know it). We were last there, with this same family minus the SIL since Steph was only about 13, when Matt was 6 months old. Everything looked the same.....including "Counselor Dave" who basically runs all the activities and still looks like he's about 22. There oughta be a law against that!

We then strolled around Mystic Village for a bit and went back to their hotel so the kids could swim. Later we had dinner at Foxwoods and watched all the people there. Now we're home and will have our children returned sometime tomorrow!

I'm still planning to be online with everyone tomorrow...but maybe minus the margarita. (took a while to get rid of that headache after last night!)

Hello Angels.

Another long saga about DD is unfolding. She was one of 2 co-drum majors last year. Now granted I am prejudiced, but she did a better job than the other girl. All of the kids and parents agree that Sarah is more respected and a better leader than the other girl. The band director last year had been at the school 25 years and is making a move this year. He would not chose between the 2 because he didn't want to hurt the other girl's feelings, inspite of students going to him and asking for Sarah to be DM. The new director is fresh out of college and working on making the decision about next year's Drum Major. He wants one solo DM. DD has been e-mailing him and has spoken to him by phone twice. She volunteered and then called all the band members to tell them of an upcoming meeting. The other girl has done nothing. He is going to talk to both girls Wednesday and have them "try out" on Thursday and make a decision Friday. Meanwhile, he wants DD to sign up for Drum Major Academy. This would mean she can't come to RiddleCon but is something we are all willing to do if it means she is solo DM. (Don't worry, at the minimum DS and I will be there.) So, if you have any good thoughts send them this way. Hopefully this will turn out better than the Honor Society fiasco.

Finally to all those who talked about DS's and DH's on GameCube's, I think I may well be able to talk DBF into letting us come to RiddleCon if it becomes a heavy GameCube playing type area! LOL, he loves his cube and advance and now his SP - Men!!!
