BEO Sticker Shock!!

So just got my BEO last week from my wonderful planner (really, she is great) and I was a bit taken aback by the fact that it's right now at about $10,000 more than we planned on.

Soft drinks for $23.50/person?! Soft drinks?! $23.50!

I'm going through it and the trimming shall begin. I'm hoping to shave off at least $4,000. We'll see if that's possible.

Whoa - that is a lot! I see you're from L.A. too - are you getting married at Walt Disney World or Disneyland? I just wonder 'cuz it seems like it may be cheaper for us to fly all the way to Florida than get married in our "backyard" at Disneyland

It is cheaper to get married at WDW, and the venues are MUCH nicer. That's where we're getting married.

What happens if you don't have soft drinks? Do they serve water and tea or something or do you have to buy a bar package?

You get a tea, coffee or water with the meal and i bet they probably serve water but i guess thats about it!

We cut back on our costs by using outside vendors for photography and video we saved over $2000 on that! We kept our floral to a minimum and used seasonal flowers to keep the costs down.

We cut out the champagne toast and just had everyone use whatever they had in their hand!

We stuck to a beer and wine bar for the adults instead of a call brands package.

I also reused alot of the floral from my ceremony at the reception!

Are you sure that it's 23.50 per person for soft drinks?? That seems really steep!! I mean how much for the bar and drinks then?!?!? I was considering having a Disney wedding but if those are the prices, then I don't think I can afford that!! LMAO!!! I mean that's more than a plate of food for where I'm having my wedding at. Just wanted to check and see. But, I hope you find your way to have the wedding of your dreams!!!

Make sure you go through your BEO very carefully. You'd be surprised the mistakes the planners make that can add thousands to our bill - like having the coach on your BEO when you never asked for it. Good luck cutting costs, and let us know if you need any suggestions!

It is cheaper to get married at WDW, and the venues are MUCH nicer. That's where we're getting married. WP/reception at ADH.

What type of decorations are you having at ADH? We're also having ADH and I was suprised by how low my BEO was. We're leaving the 4 top tables tables, I think the marble is beautiful and unique, and only having 1 votive for $2.50 at each table. At our sweetheart table, we're using our alterpiece as a ceterpiece. My floral budget was just $1300.

The drinks, unfortunately since you need to have disney catering they gouge up the prices. I broke down the prices per person with tax and grat(the 23.50 is w/out tax and gratuity)
Beer and wine - 42.17
Soda/water - 30.03
Hosted (five drinks per person) - 39.94

But we were able to get our prereception and meal for 71.50 a person (also before taxes and grat)

ADH is such a beatiful location it really doesn't need added decor.
