I am looking at the Benro Travel Angel C2691TB1 tripod kit. Does anyone have any experience with this brand and have any comments?

I'm looking for a carbon set with a ballhead that can handle (most often) a 70-200 f2.8 and 1D Mark IV. I like the overall weight of the tripod and the folded size. It's a bit shorter than my other tripods, but the savings in weight more than makes up for it. This one seemed to fit the bill. Praises? Bad experiences?

Matt,
I have one of the smallest Benro travel angels (TRAB069) and love it! For it's small size it is well built and surprisingly stable. the ballhead is also great. I would buy it again and would love to upgrade to the carbon fiber model. I recently had a friend visit with a larger version and it scaled up as expected.

I cannot speak on the model you are looking at but the travel angel line is well built.

The quality of the product is exactly what I was looking so. I appreciate you weighing in here. :thumbsup2

Is the Benro the one you bring with you to the parks?

I own two of them. Love them both. Highly recommend. I do not use their heads. I have an original Arca Swiss given to me by a dear friend and the small one has a RRS head that I love.

I got my first one when the only place you could get them was ebay.

I have a Benro Travel Angel. I find its size is great for pictures at Disneyland. It is small and came with its own case. I also really like I can use it as a monopod when that is a better choice. I think some of the CF ones have clamp style locks which I prefer over the twist ones. I really like mine.

Thanks for the help. I am pretty sure I will go with the Benro. The things I've read seem to indicate that it's a solid contender in quality tripods. It looks like all of the travel angels are twist lock now. To me it isn't as big of a deal, but I don't have any 5 section tripods though. All of mine are 4. The extra 3 twists may be significant over the day.

I tend to solve the issue of contimous twisting by not tightening them when not in use. This allows for a quicker setup.

Another thing is that the twist lock is not as susceptible to breaking leaving you high and dry. Regardless you should be happy with any of the tripods n the travel angel line.
