Benefits on staying onsite??

When you stay onsite at Disneyland is it like WDW where your tickets are on tour room key and you get fastpasses with your room key. It would be a plus for me if this was the case.

At WDW I accidentally left one of room cards in a fastpass machine at WDW. I have read that with Disneyland tickets if you lose your ticket it is gone. Whereas I would assume if your tickets are on your room key and you lose it you can get it replaced.

Am I correct?

If you've never done both why comment? I've done both and honestly for me it is. Onsite like other people have said before is the 24 hour disney experience. Maybe I'm fortunate to be able to afford it but I just love being in disney! When the day is over you see disney all the way to your room that has more disney. The bathrooms have disney and I see a smiling mickey all day. I thought DLH does take your stuff up to your room... maybe I'm mistaken. Either way I hate the logistics you take getting back to your room and all the waiting off site. When you are onsite to me it just seems like you don't do all this waiting just to either get at the park, leave the park... that's it you just never leave the park! I love it and when I vacation I never go cheap! What's the point of worrying about things when it's time to relax!

Would you please explain this a little? We're across the street at the Camelot Inn next week and I'd like to know what I'm in for.

:wave2: Annette

I stayed at the Camelot Inn this past summer and loved it. It was a nice price, we had a suite, and the walk over was very short and convenient. The continental breakfast was nice as well, as dinner is always our big meal. Once you walk through those gates you are completely transported, and although I really do not like staying offsite at WDW AT ALL, at DLR it really didn't bother me. I would like to stay at the Grand Californian someday, though. :cloud9:

No, of course they do. It is a very nice hotel. We have stayed there once or twice a year for the last 10 years, and there is always a bellhop to greet us, open our door, and take our bags. The only issue that we have had in all those years of staying there was the construction, and thankfully sometime next year it will be complete--pool areas and all.

We always enjoy staying on property, but we can't always afford it. I am glad we have done both--on and off property--because it really gives you different perspectives. This summer we are staying at the Grand Californian in June, but are doing a quicker, more low-key trip in July off property. Since we are getting AP's with the first trip, we want to utilize them one more time before the summer is over, but can't affort two resort stays in one summer! We will get a good deal withing walking distance and it will be more of a "road trip style" experience, while the first trip to the GC will be more the resort vacation experience. I sort of like both for different reasons!:goodvibes
