Benefits of annual pass?

For me personally right now, I don't care about discounts or free parking. I just ordered annual passes for my husband and I after not having them for two years. What is means for us is that we can go back to our "every three day weekend" thing. And that to us is the most benefit of the annual pass because the year 2016 has been horrible for us. We had a house fire and are now living in a rental home until the house can be redone (right now, it's just framework, a roof and floors). We lost two cats due to smoke inhalation but have the other two with us. I didn't think another trip to Disney World would be possible since we have to replace a lot of things but thanks to saving our income tax refund, we decided we've suffered enough and Disney World was needed.

So, there are benefits besides monetary ones. And we will be back for the first time in two years this weekend!

I'm so sorry to hear of the hardships you've had to endure this year. I hope the rest of 2016 gets better for you!

Enjoy your trip this weekend!!

From time to time there are special things available to only passholders. During F&W there was a wine glass available for free, after getting a passport stamped so many times. Right now there are free posters available during F&G. During SWW 2015 there were different posters available each weekend.

Room discounts are usually around the 30 to 35% off (Deluxe). ETA: less discount for mods and value.

We've had annual passes since around 1995. When we lived out of state we had an AP, moved to central FL and got PAP, but with recent price increases went back down to AP.

We are really thinking about this this year--we have Free Dining Packages for September--7 day, Hopper for 6 Disney Adults and 1 Disney Child. I know in the packages, it is sometimes hard to "split out" the cost of the tickets, but am I safe to look up what the cost of the 7 Day hopper pass was at the time I booked the package, and the current cost of an AP, subtract the difference, and POOF--that is what I am expected to pay? or is it not that simple? Was expecting about $300 apiece to upgrade . . . .

It's that simple. Unless the tickets are special like military, they are never discounted.

OK, you have some things confused.
Tickets bought as part of a WDW Resort package CAN be price-bridged.

1. It doesn't matter. You don't need to split anything out.
2. It doesn't matter what they cost when you booked. It only matters what they cost on the day you want to upgrade.
3. Yes. Current cost (on the day you upgrade) of AP. Current cost (on the day you upgrade) of 7-day hopper.
4. Subtract the current cost of the ticket that you HAVE from the current cost of the ticket that you WANT.
Pay that difference price (plus tax on the difference price) for the upgrade.

Current ticket prices are found HERE.

Hello everyone, I have a question. First the background. I am going solo this October for 10 days with park hopper, and I am planning on taking my mother for Food & Wine at the end of next September for 11 days. (She is turning 70 next year) I am a fan of the DxDP, I enjoy the Signature Restaurants. Unless something drops at the end of next month, this year I am paying rack rate for everything. I have a few friends that are CM, and I was unable to book through them this year for the Friends & Family Discount due to my travel dates. Next year however, one of my friends will let me use her CM discount for the September 2017 trip. I was planning on upgrading myself due to planning on going for 21 days within a year. I know that with the F&F I will have to pay rack for my mother next year when it comes to her park tickets.

My question is, will I be able to add on the DxDP for the trip next year?

Also, I always see tickets listed for 10 days but never 11 when it comes to pricing; will I need to get my mother an AP for next year once she goes for that 11th day or will I have to get her a 10 day + a 1 day?

Thank you in advance.

Alright! So we are going to do this thing!--upgrade our current passes to an AP this year, that is. So, can I do it at Riverside Front Desk where we are staying, or does it have to be at one of the parks? I am trying to surprise the kids--do they have to be there when I upgrade their passes, or can that be done all automatically on computer? If I check out, say on the 15th, but do not have park tickets for that day, can I upgrade that day, or does it have to be on the last day that a ticket is active? Thanks in advance!

You must upgrade before your current passes expire - before or on the "last day that a ticket is active." You can do this at a park or Downtown Disney/Disney Springs - I don't think you can do this at the hotel. All members of your party are supposed to be there for the upgrade. DH was able to do this for the kids (when he was in possession of their MBs) once, but was politely informed that the kids were supposed to accompany him...
