Afterwards we had dinner at a local seafood place called Bristols. They were offering a fixed price 4-course menu for $30 per person. The food was great and we couldn't beat the price.

First course was potato gnocchi with mushrooms and corn bisque. It was a little too shroomy for me but Jay, quoting Hitler, said it was "exquisite."

Second course was seared tuna with fresh greens and grilled 'taters. The tuna was perfect! I've never seen tuna this good in Stinktown. :thumbsup2

Third course was a petite fillet mignon with a big ol' king crab claw, mashed taters, and asparagoose.

Dessert was lovely vanilla bean ice cream with a raspberry jam tart.

Jay did a CA wine pairing with his meal (4 wines for $16 ... wow!) and I did a French wine pairing with mine (4 wines for $25 ... still wow!).

All in all a very satisfying and most tasty meal - we will definitely visit them again! :thumbsup2

This meal sounds excellent, glad y'all enjoyed it!

Elin - Loved your pics, that was quite an event!!!:thumbsup2 I'm doing my best to catch up, been battling a stomach bug all weekend but feeling better now.

Feel better, my friend!

Bridget - Your menu looks scary! In a very good way. :teeth:

Hiya Friendies!!:wave2:

Well, we're back from our cruise! We actually got back late Friday afternoon, but between unpacking, doing laundry, re-stocking the pantry and fridge, and then Halloween yesterday, I haven't had a chance to get on until today. I was amazed to see so how many dining review updates there were.....but I'm all caught up on everyone's reports now!

We had a great time.....the weather was great, and I was pleasantly surprised at how good the food was. Desserts were so-so, but the appies and entrees were all delicious. Michael took advantage of the all you can eat aspect to order at least 2 appies and 2 entrees each night. He's a pretty big eater, and while the portions were fine for me, they were not nearly enough for him! We will definitely do another cruise, and since we'll have the kiddies with us next time, we will probably do a Disney cruise.

Anyone else having trouble with the online dining reservations? I've been trying since Friday, ended up calling to get mine. When I go to the calendar to select my date the calendar doesn't come up and I have to manually enter the date. When I check for availability it sends me a "quote file" that my computer can't open. I'm baffled because I used the online system with no problems for our last trip.:confused3

Chell, your sushi dinner sounds pretty tasty to me - yum!

Heather - welcome home!

Kat - feel better soon, friendie!

Bridget - that is an amazingly creepy meal; how fun!

Brenda glad to hear your feeling better:goodvibes. By the way it was really nice to meet you and Jay both at the F&WF. My boys enjoyed meeting you both they kept telling me how nice the two of you were. And you know I find kids and animals have good instict. And mine were dead on with theres.:flower3: What great people you guys are.

Michele, you are too sweet - thanks very much for posting that; you put a smile on my face. I can't wait to share your comment with Jay when he gets home from work so that he'll know we're not all bad. ;)

Your family was lovely and I'm so glad you said something when you saw us on that Friday afternoon. We really enjoyed chatting with you and if we hadn't needed to get back and start packing everything up to go home we might have tagged along with you guys for a bit.

Hope you all enjoyed your trip and that you had a happy birthday and happy anniversary celebration at WDW.

I have used it twice this weekend with no problems. But Kristin was making a room reservation earlier today and had trouble with the site during that procedure. :confused3

OK, Simpsons fans... Food Network Challenge is "Mystery Simpsons Cakes"

It's only me, wonder if it's my computer?

Welcome home Heather!!!!

I've got it on the TV right now - Jay is on his way home from work so he's going to miss the first 20 minutes or so, but at least they'll repeat during the week. :thumbsup2

Ok... the room is swaying... (again...)

but I'm feeling less pain...

Is that a good thing?

Bridget your Halloween dinner is awesome!

Kat, hope you're feeling better

Heather welcome home :goodvibes

Michelle, why is the room swaying? What's wrong?

woke up with my normal average everday kind of pain... trying Ultracet this time... which makes trying to watch intelligent TV almost impossible...

Time to go sleep this one off...

Realized it's 21 years ago this week that I had my accident... it's not supposed to hurt after this long is it?

Hey Friendies! I'm busy backreading. Sorta got side tracked the last couple of weeks, a holiday party was dropped in my lap...you know, make this happen for oh, 110 people. ;) I think it's finally done, but hey a little notice would have been appreciated. :rotfl:
Can't believe it's 1 Nov. How did that happen?
Sending best friendie wishes to all, Gin

Halloween Goodies :goodvibes
Everyone had a great Halloween. :)
Did you SERIOUSLY made all those things on the pictures (except the chicken wings?). I'm in awe! :worship: I was patting myself on the back for taking the time to carve a pumpkin this year. :littleangel: It seems most of the kids in our neighborhood have grown, plus we're on a side street so we never get many kids coming around. This year was an all-time low - with one set of trick or treaters appearing. My son is happy, as he gets the candy.

I remember one entrée on RCI which consisted of three large shrimp, and the guy who ordered it looked at it in astonishment and said to the waiter: "that's an appetizer portion -I need at least six more of those!". That's the great thing about cruise ships, nobody judges you a matter how many dishes you requested dinner. I always had 2 desserts. :cloud9:

:

I must've missed something - what kind of a pain are you having?

BTW, I thought the Michael Jackson documentary was outstanding. From the moment he's on the screen you can't take your eyes off him plus nobody writes music that well anymore today. From what we see in the rehearsals that was going to be one helluva show.

Heather, welcome home!

Kat and Michelle (tink), feel better! Michelle, were you in a car accident? I'm sorry you're in so much pain.

Bridget, that was an amazing party spread! The rabbit roadkill made me :rotfl2:!

I've been enjoying the "drinking while taking your kids trick or treating" thread on the CB this morning. You guys know what was in my refillable mug! :scared1: I am such a dork, I thought we were the only people who did this with our friends. It's not like I was carrying a Camelback full of wine! :rotfl:(although we discussed it when friend's dh and I ran out halfway through our walk...)

I have returned from the dark side of swineflu victorious!:woohoo: Turns out all you need to beat it is 16 hours of sleep a day, chicken noodle soup, pedialyte, and Colin Firth movies. Behold the healing power of Mr. Darcy!

Michelle- I'm sorry that you aren't feeling well.

In our old neighborhood, the dad's would take the kids trick or treating and pulled a wagon - for the kids & the beer :lmao: they were known to "trick or treat" themselves if they ran out along the way ;)

Glad you're feeling better, but from everyone that I know that has had it; take it easy! Stupid pig seems to let people think they're feeling better and then WHAM it slaps ya upside the head again.
