I want the wine charms.:guilty:

Well, we found the perfect way to end our day: a couple of hours spent with Chad (the bartender) at Martha's Vineyard Lounge at the BC! :teeth:

He had one glass of King Estates Pinot Gris left and a whole bottle of Cockburn's Tawny Port that he scrounged for just for me. I am a happy camper! :goodvibes

Good night all!

That sounds great. :cloud9:

In other news:

We leave tomorrow for Disneyland and the kids have no clue!!!

I went to the spaaaaaahhhhh today to get some vampy nails and toes.:thumbsup2

It's a super rainy day, so I put some butternut squash soup in the crock pot. I think that and some pumpkiny pasta is the perfect pre-Disneyland Halloween dinner.:thumbsup2

Kids have colds (please oh please just colds) so I'm hoping they feel better soon.

Hey everyone,

We've actually been back since early Friday morning but between spending the weekend at a hotel with my DH and going back to work Monday this is the first chance I've had to post anything. I see I have lots of back reading to do to catch up on here.

I just wanted to let you all know that the buttons were a hit. :thumbsup2 I had lots of nice comments on them. One CM on TTA wanted to trade me pins in the worse way. He kept trying to offer me more and more of his pins for mine. Told him sorry , it's a limited edition custom pin and I'm not trading. :) Also had a few prople ask what shop I got it at. ;)

People wanted my pin too. A CM at DTD asked me what I would be willing to trade it for and I told him I would trade it for the re-opening of the Adventurer's Club.

Oh, I hope you have fun at DL! The weather here is wonderful:cloud9: right now, and the park looks so cute! I'm sure it's only colds and once you get to beautiful sunny CA everything will be great.

Gina, I also wanted to wish you all the best on your upcoming nuptials.

The picture that is on all the T-shirts and gear at this years F & W Festival is done by Canadian Artist Will Rafuse. You'll recognize the style right away when you see his other work: http://www.willrafuse.com/

I'm stunned that a presenter would simply not bother to show up. I wouldn't dream of doing that to an audience. BTW, I made the Arroz con Pollo from this year's F & W Festival cookbook last night, and it was delicious. This year the book has 59 pages and many of the recipes are new (as compared to last year's lame effort).

Disney does listen to people's complaints and they also check out the online boards and read the comments. During the PFTS, I was briefly seated with one of the Food and Beverage Managers of Epcot and he confirmed that. We also talked about the 2 new cruise ships Disney is launching in 2011 and 2012 (which you guys probably already know about), and the shifting around of some of the chefs at Disney.
Noticing my enthusiasm for all things Disney and food related, he then asked if I had ever considered working for Disney. The question surprised me, and I replied that I’m planning to apply as an Enrichment Speaker for Disney Cruise lines (the agency I work with is now booking for Disney Cruise lines, but I'm going to apply directly in hopes of bypassing the agent’s fee), but that I couldn't see myself working at the parks and being on my feet all day.
Well, he said that Disney is hiring all the time (even just for shorter stretches - like 3 to 4 months), and that I would be placed in guest relations if I were interested. I quipped that if enthusiasm for things Disney is the key to getting hired, I could hook him up with a whole group of people at the DisBoards!

Off Kilter: I went to hear the band on Monday and Tuesday, and then spoke to the Celtic fiddler. He plays with the band two days a week (Mon/Tues) and told me they use bagpipes the remaining days. I assumed the lead singer (the handsome Mel Gibson look alike), and lead guitar stayed the same but maybe I'm wrong. Maybe they all rotate days off because it's the only way they get their 2 days a week off. In any case, I think they are the best act at Epcot, so YAY for Canada!

Bendy - I'm glad to hear you're going to be able to eat during your Disney visit because I would really miss here are reviews!

LUCKY! Have a fabulous time and hope the weather is wonderful for you.

I asked this question on the restaurant board, but thought I might get a quicker answer here. Bob and I brought dressier clothes for tonight, but it is HOT HOT HOT! Can he get away with dress khaki shorts and a button down shirt for Flying Fish?

Can I get away with a knit skirt and a nice tank? I hate the thought of having to dress up any mors than that in this heat.

I think you'll be better dressed than 90% of the people there.:thumbsup2

I might not make it back on here before I leave for California, so I wanted to wish you a beautiful wedding day and a great honeymoon - which sounds absolutely amazing, BTW! Can't wait to read the report(s) :surfweb:

And for everyone else who is leaving for WDW or DL before I get back - safe travels and happy eating!

Pumpkin Pie martinis are the drink of the month in the crappiest place on earth???

Have a great trip Briarmom ... and having learned from the past I'm not even going to ask you about a TR but I'd love to see your pictures if you feel like sharing. :goodvibes

pre-thanksgiving rush on pumpkin?

They probably saw 'Thanksgiving' on the calendar and did not realize it was CANADIAN Thanksgiving.

Pumpkin Pie martinis are apparently difficult to make because you can't find pumpkin booze anywhere. :headache:

I will try to remember to do pictures at least.:rotfl:

Good Gawd ... how long does it take the American Leauge to play a baseball game???

This is more excruciating than waiting for bowl prep to kick in. :lmao:

I wants to see my Redbirds!!! Go Cardinals! :yay:

Gina, have a wonderful wedding! :goodvibes

And how cool is it that Catherine's button design is getting all sorts of attention?

Alison .... safe travels and have a great trip! We'll see you next week!

I'm thinking it will be a zoo at the zoo next Friday. :lmao:

Just for clarification ... when I said "go cardinals" earlier, I did not mean go home in three games after being swept by the dodgers. :lmao:

I haven't seen these guys play this badly in months. :sad2:
