WELCOME "RED" :)

Glad to be here MA pigletfan! Thanks for the welcome message.

Welcome redinner! Glad you joined the party. This is a really fun group!! :jumping1:

Thanks blissventure! It sure is the friendliest group in the DIS World! :goodvibes

I can't believe I have missed this much. I feel so lost.:confused3

Don't feel lost ... just jump right back in. We're just doing what we normally do ... and the chatter is ramping up since so many of us are getting close to vacation time. :thumbsup2

And Gina is getting close to her wedding ...

Foodies, Have you seen this blog.
It has photos of some of the dishes from Kouzzina's. The whole red snapper maybe authentic Greek but I don't think I'd want to mess with it ... the bones and all. :scared: Just give me the meat!

There have been quite a few pictures of Kouzzina showing up different places lately, haven't there? I had not see the shot of the whole fish, though. Thanks for posting it redzinner!

I am very much looking forward to both our meals there now!

thanks for the link, redzinner!

I couldn't do the fish ... besides the bone issue, there is just something unappealing to me about having the whole thing slapped down on a plate like that. But I'm weird that way.

I saw some breakfast pictures on all ears that looked promising. I'm curious about the white sangria ... I can't wrap my head around that one. Anyone here ever tried anything like that and is it any good? Is it sweet? I hope not.

I'm in the minority here but I'd be all over that bad boy fishie!!! Anytime I can order a whole fish dish of any kind I'm a happy woman.:woohoo:

OMG! I love white sangria! When I make it I use a crisp white wine, like a pinot gris and oranges, lemons, limes and sometimes raspberries. I also use a triple sec and, if it is too tart I will put a little simple syrup in it. But is is not sweet.

I'm with you, Kat! If it is a fish I like, I will probably order a whole fish over the filet or steak (of fish). :goodvibes

Thanks for the link :thumbsup2 and I don't think I've said "hi" yet

That's exactly what I wanted to know ... it sounded like a good way to kick off a morning meal but I was a little leery. However ... if one of the friendies gives it her stamp of approval then I might be more willing to give it a try.

I wonder if they would let me sample it first before actually ordering some? :lmao:

Is there a recipe for this? Sounds perfect for a hot summer today :thumbsup2

Nope, can't do it. too scary :scared1:

First, I'm sorry about your kitty! It's hard, I know.

But second, what an exciting day! I just loved feeling so pampered going in for a fitting, having everyone swarming around pinning this, adjusting that. It was such an enjoyable time.
Thank you about my kitty..:)
And yes..I am really trying to enjoy everything about the big day ..last night was actually pretty fun..the dress is going to look great i think! ( hope!!)

How exciting.....enjoy the time leading up to the wedding....all too soon it is over. And I love that you are so excited for the honeymoon....maybe it's because I didn't plan my honeymoon (our trip was a gift from my in-laws so all I had to do was show up for the flight), but it didn't even occur to me until the day before the wedding that I was going to get to take a trip!:lmao:
I think i would be an anxious wreck if someone planned my honeymoon..i am WAY too much of a planner!! But then again, it is nice just having to "show up" somewhere...:)

And Gina is getting close to her wedding ...
Dont' I know it!! Sorry for talking about it all the time..BUT i do have my shower Sunday, so i will try and take some food pics..not sure what they are serving..but i think its Italian of some sort!:thumbsup2 I mean, i know when the shower is and where..i need to keep some things a suprise ;)

And we are all planning to show up! :bride:
HEEHEE!!! THAT would be awesome..believe me, we are planning quite the spread, i think it would be Friendie approved! I am telling my photographer to make sure he gets a picture of each course ;)

Is there a recipe for this? Sounds perfect for a hot summer today :thumbsup2

ITA!! Yummy and refreshing!!

Well, I will be at Kouzzina before you. I can let you know. I just need to remember to order the white sangria! :rotfl2:

OK! This can be made with a red wine too. You can eliminate the raspberries for the red wine. Oooh! I bet cherries would be good in the red version! See... it is not really a recipe. sorry... :flower3:

Elin's Sangria

1 bottle of dry white wine (I like a picpoul or a pinot gris/grigo)
1 lemon, thinly sliced
1 lime, thinly sliced
1 orange, thinly sliced
1 small basket of raspberries (if I can get them)
triple sec
seltzer or soda

Put all the fruit in a large pitcher and add about a 1/4 cup of sugar. Muddle the fruits with the sugar to extract all the juices you can. Add the wine and a healthy splash of triple sec. Put it in the refrigerator and let the flavors mix. Just before serving I pour in some flavored seltzer. Not sweetened, just 0-calorie, 0-sodium seltzer. I like orange, lemon or lime, but I bet raspberry would also be good! It makes it a little fizzy and enhances the refreshment factor!

I think that is my recipe. If you have any questions, or suggestions, let me know!

Sounds like your fitting went great! That must have been a special moment when you saw yourself in the mirror wearing your beautiful gown. :flower3:

Will look forward to hearing more about your shower. :thumbsup2

Now that sounds delicious! I can't drink red wine (makes me wheezy), so this would be great!

I really can't wait for everyone's pictures of Kouzzina in Oct.--it's on my plan for the first night now. It's looking like we're going to do the Christmas party, so I'm moving things around on my little spreadsheet. And I'm old school....pencil and paper! :rotfl:

You know what I've found - at least with bartenders - they're more than happy to let you taste something (if it's pre-made anyway, or they have a little left over after serving a drink to another guest.)

I might be at Kouzzina earlier - either August 29 or September 1. Will depend on where I decide to be on the 29th. I definitely have a reservation there on September 25.

Are all of us going writing separate reviews of the Bluezoo signature dinner? Dueling reviews...
