Michelle - I will keep an eye out for Jordan. Is she going alone?

Gina - Dinner sounds delicious!

Our older DD lives in Brookline. Where do the the rest of you Boston area people call home?

You go girl!:cool1:

:teeth: I am looking at a couple more too. myBob is ecstatic that I am doing this. It cracks me up. He sees "alone time in the room with a great book and a beer" and I see fun for Elin! :rotfl2:

A question for you all...

We arrive at MCO at 11:00 a.m. We have a towncar picking us up and are staying at BCV. I am looking at a culinary demonstration on our arrival day that begins at 1:00. Do you think that is that cutting it a little too close?

Too bad we're not going at the same time, my Johnny & your Bob sound so much alike. I think you & I would be doing F&W together while the guys hung out and drank their beer!

For now, yes, until she tells her friends which ones she's going to and see if they want to go as well. She's like us, a foodie at heart - the other college kids don't quite get 'it' ya know? I'm going ahead and booking her for all of the ones that are 'must do' for her... like Warren Brown, Todd English, Keegan Gerhard, etc. If she can make them, great! At least she knows that she has a spot reserved. :thumbsup2

Well... I do think it's cutting it a bit close. Even though you're at BCV and have easy entrance to Epcot - you still have to walk all the way up to the front of Epcot to the Wonders pavilion...

I would have LOVED that! :goodvibes

I will look for her. And she can look for me! I hope her friends will also go with her to some of them. It would make for a fun hour or so and at a very good price!

I was also thinking it might be cutting it close, but was hoping I was wrong. Of course, if AirTran keeps messing without flights we might be there at a completely different time anyway! :rotfl2:

Back to the drawing board.

I wouldn't book it ahead of time. You cannot be certain that your plane will land on time. If you miss it, you are only out $5 - 8 so that's up to you.

Just got this in an email:

Epcot® International Food & Wine Festival offers Tables in Wonderland Member discounts

Tables in Wonderland Members have a special opportunity to purchase discounted advance tickets to the culinary demonstrations and wine/beverage seminars at the Epcot® International Food & Wine Festival, taking place September 25 - November 8, 2009.

Beginning Wednesday August 26, a limited number of discounted tickets will be available for Tables in Wonderland Members to purchase online in advance of the general public. The discounted rate is $5 a person (regularly $8 a person) while they last. (Events are expected to sell out.) Please note that the discount won't be available at the event, so advance purchase is required to get the discounted rate. Discounted tickets, if available, may be purchased until 24 hours before the start of any individual session.

The culinary demonstrations and wine/beverage seminars, which last about 45 minutes, let participants learn from featured chefs and wine presenters, pick up a few tips and taste the featured items. Everyone must have a ticket to attend, and attendees must be 21 years of age or older to consume alcoholic beverages.

There is a link in the email that leads you to a page where you can register, but the registration cannot be completed yet apparently, because the link on that page does not yet work.

There is also a plug for the PFTS so I am thinking they might not be going so well... no discount.

You know... this really irks me. I was hoping to go to some of the seminars, and now I won't be able to, as they'll all be booked... serves me right for not being an AP holder, DVC member or TIW holder... GRRRRRRRRR!!!!!

Anyone know if I can call to book this stuff?

Gosh I've been missing out on a lot of fun, food & drink porn the last few days.

DH (the D not meaning Dear this time) has been working from home the past 2days. Confiscating my computer in the process!

I've missed just too much to quote & comment on it all. Although I do have to mention Bra-endy! :rotfl2: Hilarious!

Well we didn't show much restraint booking demos & seminars. Over a 100 bucks worth, not getting Todd English at the discounted rate. So I'm hoping there will be no lines & no teensy tiny pours (more like splashes) in some of last year freebies.

We booked:

Culinary demos

Hoten Icon
Todd English
Donald Link
The Wave
Jamie McFadden
Grand Floridian (food)
Toyko Dining

Wine

Schweiger Vineyards
MacMurray Ranch
Lieb Cellars

I think this will be by far our most expensive F&W trip. We also booked Todd English Signature Dining & a Tequila Tasting. Plus we have 4 dinners booked with friends and a couple on our own! I'm glad at least some of this required pre-payment!

Come on October!!! :yay:

You can book it online even though you are not a member of any of those things (or have expired APs or TiW cards!)
I am doing so right now! Just check "NO" when they ask if you are a member.

Come on October!!! :yay:

I am still debating this one on October 5.

And I just noticed they have a Spirit Seminar presented by Beam Distillery! I LOVE bourbon. I might be able to persuade Bob to do that one too. Wish me luck!

Elin, You're quick I was just going to put up that link!

I'm sorry you won't be there at the same time we are! I would have loved meeting you & your Bob! MyBob also likes his beer, but I'm lucky in that he likes his wine & food quite a lot also. Although his dream meal at WDW is still wings & a burger at ESPN!

Please don't entice me to start looking at the offerings again! :sad2: The checkbook & wallet are already tapped out & the credit cards are going to be maxed! But oh what fun we will have!

For those of you who have done back-to-back seminars / presentations... Would it be possible to finish a seminar at 4:30 and begin a culinary demo at 4:30 also?

Last year it could be done, if someone in your group left early to get in line for the next one. So I would think it will be possible with pre-booking. I hope so we did it!

We are doing that one night! :rotfl2:

:goodvibes I just persuaded Bob to do it with me (he likes bourbon almost as much as I do). If I realize that it is impossible to do I will skip the Warren Brown presentation in lieu if doing one thing throughout the whole week that he would like to do. It is worth losing $8 over.
