Before I start, I have decided I need the new Motorola Droid phone that Verizon Wireless introduced this week. My pictures are not very bright since there is no flash on my phone. But... I will have to make do as we don't get new phones for a year.

We finally persuaded myBob to join us at kybecca, our favorite wine bar / bistro in town. He is not a wine drinker but when I told him they had about 50 beers to choose from he was sold!

We sat at the bar so we could people watch as well as see the chefs in action.

We ordered a few of their tapas-sized offerings to share.

I'm so glad that your Mom is OK and has a plan to keep in good health going forward. As my Aunt used to say, those slots aren't going to jockey themselves. I'm sorry your Mom, you, and your family had to go through all the grief and worry, it's good that the Dr.s were able to figure out what was going on and get your Mom back to normal-ish.

Bendy - I've lost both of my parents but I remember each and every time each one had a medical emergency. It's very scary and you need to cry. You've got a wonderful supportive guy there who will be right by your side through all of the tough times.

Turns out that she had 99% blockage in the primary left artery - the ones that doctors like to refer to as the widowmaker. She's lucky that she didn't end up with a starring role at her own funeral this week. Her heart sustained about 35% damage and she will be limited to moderate exercise going forward but we're hopeful that if she sticks to her diet and gets in the walking she needs to get in on a daily basis that she will be around to gamble for years and years to come.

She has to be feeling better because she asked the cardiologist today when she could go back to the casino.

Brenda, Thanks for the pm. So glad that your Mom's prognosis looks good! I will continue to send good thoughts & prayers for an easy recovery. My aunt had a very similar attack 3 years ago & is doing very well!

It's understandable that you'd fall apart a bit. What I've seen of Dear Jay, you don't need to wait until he's asleep! Just know you have lots of friends to lean on, when the going gets tough, you don't need to hold it together all the time.

Our temps reached 80 degrees today! We're marinating a couple of steaks and are enjoying some cheese and cabernet until they're ready to grill.



Got out for a three-mile walk around the neighborhood earlier today ... we kept looking for food and wine booths to stop at but alas ... none.
