Not sure if I'm going to do a full dining review but wanted to let my friendies know where and what we ate.
Rick and I started off with dinner at Citricos on Saturday night. Of course I forgot my camera
Our waiter was a bit harried at first and I wasn't expecting great service but he finished up with a few tables and then he was great. We had a bottle of Sonoma Cutrer Chardonney, a favorite of ours and the cheese trio. Wasn't that great. 1st cheese was a lemon ricotta - BORING with very little lemon taste. 2nd was my favorite, a Kasseri from Greece. Last was Forme d'Ambert which was good but I'm not a big lover of blue cheese.
For entrees I had the braised short ribs with quattro formaggi potatoes and Rick had the Roasted Chicken Breast - Tanglewood Farms Chicken with Creste di Gallo Pasta, Parmesan Cream, Prosciutto di Parma, and Asparagus Tips. Both entrees were wonderful and full of flavor. Hard to believe we were to full for dessert but we did enjoy more wine at the Top of the World lounge watching Wishes.
On Sunday we had lunch at Columbia Harbor House which was included on the Keys to the Kingdom tour. Rick had fish and I had the BLT salad, both were good.
Dinner was at Chefs de France, our first time eating there. We enjoyed a glass of pouilly fuisse which was enjoyable and the bread.
Then we had the cheese plate, I couldn't get over the size of it. There was a goat cheese, very good, a brie, a gruyere, and a munster. I'd say the goat and munster where my favorites.
I had the Filet de boeuf grille, sauce au poivre noir Gratin Dauphinois et haricots verts - Grilled tenderloin of beef with a black pepper sauce original potato gratin of Savoy and green beans. Very good and the steak was a perfect medium rare.
Rick had Plat de Cote de Boeuf au Cabarnet avec pates - Beef short ribs braised in Cabernet with pasta, pearl onions and mushrooms. He said the short ribs were very good but the pasta was dry and boring.
Hard to believe but once again we were to full for dessert
and even sadder we were to full to stop for a cocktail at La Cava del Tequila
