I've known about his show since September of last year and have wanted to go. Due to other circumstances, DH and I decided to not do it. We are trying to discipline ourselves financially. The tickets were only $25 a peice, but still. 
So anyway, I wait on 3 people from the Humanities Dept. at the college quite often. Well today one of them asked me casually what was my reason for not going to Ben Vereen and I told him financial. With the new car and hopefully a new house on the horizon, I had to learn to sacrifice a bit. So he asked me if I could go and had the time would I. I said yes and then he reached into his pocket and handed me two tickets to go see Ben Vereen next Saturday!!!!!!!!!! 
I was shocked. I just casually mentioned in an email how I enjoyed waiting on them and couldn't wait to see them sometime this week. I mentioned in a PS that I wouldn't be able to go to the show because they had been asking me each time they came in for lunch. I expected nothing from it....really. 
They are second row seats and I just can't stand it. I've never been to a real Broadway show and I'm truly excited. I suppose Bobby McFerrin counts as Broadway, but that was so many years ago. 1992 I believe....wow 15 years ago! Where does the time go???!!! 
So I was blessed today with two Ben Vereen tickets and I am truly thankful. Just wanted to share with some DIS friends.
