OMG, the ben and jerry's no sugar added NY Super Fudge Chunk. That's my FAVORITE flavor of ice cream, hands down. I have to wonder, though, how it would work on south beach diet. We're also watching saturated fats and 10 g sounds pretty high, but probably not out of line for the occasional treat (better than the regular stuff!)
I have never been a fan of Ben and Jerry's more a Haagan Daaz girl myself but HD doesn't have lc options. I was wondering how B&J's would fit in with South Beach too. I guess since they have no sugar added varieties, I might be persuaded to give them a try one of these days. I love Breyer's no sugar added ice cream but it's hard to limit yourself to the 1/2 cup serving (which has 25 more calories than we are supposed to have for "treats" anyway).
It does sound like a nice once in a while treat though. I'll keep it in mind. Thanks Robin! I hope you and Michael are doing well.
It's 220 calories, so it's definately a "once in a while" thing as opposed to a daily treat. But if it's nearly as good as the original, it's worth it. I would probably have it on a day when I am eating mostly chicken and fish, no red meat, because that's going to be a lower calorie and saturated fat day than when I have red meat. Still I'm excited because I can have this "treat" without throwing my blood sugar all out of whack!
