Hi Friends:

A friend just belt sanded his deck (he sunk the nails a 1/4" prior to sanding as not to harm the drum), stained it, and sealed it. Looks really good.

Any thoughts on this process. In particular, I would appreciate hearing from those with specific exprience doing so (or recommending not to do so).

Thanks in advance,
FunFamily

If you're planning on walking on it wet or snowy be sure to put sand into the stain or sealer. Our front deck is beautiful but you can't help but slip when it is wet!

I have never done this but have considered it. I do agree you do not want it to smooth or it will be difficult to walk on in the rain and winter.

Thanks for the input.

I am still looking for anyone who has done this and what post-event tips they may have. Anyone?

Thanks,
FunFamily
