BellSouth Dial-up Access

Our internet is through BellSouth. Does anyone else have BellSouth that dialed up in Orlando? I looked at BellSouth's dial-up numbers, and there is one in Orlando, so I am assuming it is a local call, and all I will have to pay for $0.75 per connection, correct? If you used BellSouth, was it typical dial-up speed? I need access to the internet for my Master's classes I am taking online. I would rather spend $0.75 on a call, rather than $9.95 per day. Thanks.
