Monday 6th November, Day 17

So its here at last. Boo Hoo :sad1: :sad1: Our last day. as much as I love Disney, I am looking forward to going home. :earseek: I know its a terrible thing to say but we have had a very hectic 8 days trying to fit into 8 days what we would normally do in 14!! We get up and stat to pack. Breakfast at Crackerbarrel goes out the window. By 11am we are walking towards the car panicing if we will get it all in. You may remember we have a convertible!!!
So 2 suitcases, a large suit holder and a very large holdall. HHmmmmm...Well amazingly we fit it all in. Admittedly we had to leave the girls behind, but hey that gives us a good reason to come back in a couple of years!!! :rotfl: We get down to Cirque de Solei at 11.15am. There is a huge queue that does not seem to be moving. We et in line, no shade, sweating and slowly losing the will to live. An hour later and we are at the front. I don't remember it being this disorganised last time we were here. So its now 12.30pm and we decide to head over to MK one last time. We have never done a park on our last day before and won't again either !!!

Ok, Nov 6th. Is this an American holiday or kids H/T or something becasue it was HEAVING. This is the reason that we come out of season. I imagine it being like this during the summer but not beginiing of Nov. We went straight to Pinnochiohaus where we queued for ages to get a table and had a quick pizza before heading over to Splash. OMG!!! 80mins, NO WAY I have never in my 5 visits to Disney ever seen a line for 80mins. What is going on??? we got a FP and then did BTM with a 10 mins wait. How does that work :confused3
We had to wait another hour and half for Splash so we walked down and did Pirates, we then walked over to tomorrowland and did the Transit Authority monorail. When we got off this we noticed that COP was open. We were really pleased as this is usually only opened seasonally and John loves this. We then took the back path from Tomorrowland to Toontown and got the train back round to Frontierland in time to do Spalsh. The queue was still massive so glad we had FP's. So one more time on Spash and then we walked down Mainstreet and stopped at the Candy store to get some fudge to take home. We made our way to the airport. We had a really bumpy flight home. We have always been quiet lucky with not having turbulence so I guess it was our turn this time. Manged to sleep for half the journey.

The main thing that took the edge of the holiday this year was the amount of people that have caught on to the notion that if you have a "disability", I use the phrase loosley, then its a great way of getting to the front of line.
Please don't get me wrong, I am not a miserable hag who humbugs at everything. I love Disney and all it stands for. I am a nurse also, so I would not begrudge anyone with a genuine disability from having a wheelchair to help them around the parks, lets face it even the fittest of people can struggle with the amount of walking. No.. I am talking about the people whose only disability I can see is being too obese to walk. What makes me laugh is that they take their whole family with them. Whislt waiting to see Shrek, some huge bloke in chair comes motoring up the line with no less than 13 of his family members with him. They all jump to the front of the queue. Then after the show has finsished, he gets out of the chair, lights up a *** and one of the kids gets in the chair. Oh yes and they were Brits!! Typical family I am sure you can imagine. This sort of selfish behaviour really hacks me off. I am writing to Disney to suggest that in future, people in chairs with disabilities need to present a Drs certificate to authenticate the requiremnet for a chair, before thet can just ask for one. This way genuine folk need not worry and can go round in their chairs fully justified. Sorry rant over.

For all of you about to go over, I wish you a very happy holiday. :)

I hate the last day, you cannot really relax till you have checked in at the airport and are forever keeping an eye on the time. I hate it too when people abuse disability benefits.

Its been great to read your report as we were there 15-28 October and I havent got round to writing mine up. Thank you for taking the time, I was there all over again! You were very busy!!! so glad you had a wonderful time.

Prue :sunny:

Thanks for writing your report - I've enjoyed reading it all

Enjoyed reading your report ~ Thanx for posting.

no less than 13 of his family members with him. They all jump to the front of the queue.

I thought they were supposed to stop this - I thought for large groups the idea was the person in the chair approached by a "wide access" line (and lets face it, its well named for some :rotfl:  ) and waited for the rest of the party to catch up.

My friend has a disabled son and two able daughters, and when at DLP she was told she and DS could have special access but only 2 others could join them - otherwise they would wait at a holding area til the rest caught up.

It isn't always easy to tell if someone has a disability - my DNep has Aspergers Syndromw, and can get very agitated by long lines, but Dsis said there's people worse than him so didn't bother getting a note from the Dr (though she did use the special check-in for the flight so they got on and off first).

I've loved your reports even if I didn't post to all (well I am at work :guilty: )

Shame that it is the end of your trippie, but thanks for taking us with you :goodvibes
I feel the same way about the disabled parking - coming out of the supermarket with a heaving trolley :rolleyes1

Thanks so much for sharing your holiday with us, I've really enjoyed reading your reports :)

Thanks so much for sharing your holiday, 17 days of reports is no mean feat so well done. Glad you had a good time and welcome home,
