Does anyone have the hours for dropping off your bags for bell services to transport them to your next hotel? I cannot remember if the cut off is check out time at 11am or different.

I don’t know that I’ve ever read an official time, but we’ve called for bell services at around 10 to pick up luggage to be transferred. Just FYI, they’re now saying you may not have your luggage until as late as 6 pm when they transfer it. Used to be 4, then it was 5, now it’s 6.

FYI, I called a couple of months ago to verify conditions for luggage transfer and I was told that they don't guarantee that it will be available.

Were you asking about the Airport transfer that is currently being piloted at the value resorts.or resort to resort. And who did you call? @gottalovepluto was specifically asking about resort to resort luggage transfer.

Good question! Curious to know the answer too since we’re doing a split stay for the first time in a loong time and couldn’t even fathom a guess! Would you report back if you find out? 😊

It is officially a 12 PM ET cutoff.

The standard response from BS CMs is please drop your luggage before 12 PM. I checked with (2) CMs at different resorts, and they have direct knowledge of the service.

Thank you!! I’ll make sure that the two of us who are doing the split stay have everything packed up the night before and will drop our bags on our way to breakfast

Interesting because when we transferred our bags from BWI to Poly last Wednesday they still told us 4pm. Maybe it's resort dependent or down to staffing at a given time?

Our bags actually made it to the Poly way before we got there from Typhoon Lagoon at around 5ish though (we use AirTags so could see them).

I was told 4pm on my last trip and it was right around then that they were delivered. I don't know if it's typical, but they delivered them right to my room while I was out for dinner.

Did you happen to be at AoA for that delivery to your room of your luggage?

I called Guest Services and asked about rules and restrictions on transferring luggage from one resort to another for a split stay. They said that it's possible, but they would only commit day of.

In Dec 2024, we were told 6 PM, to transfer from BW to AKL via Bell Services.

Perhaps the time given depends on the house occupancy, with busier times g
laterand lower occupancy allowing an earlier time?

It makes sense that different resorts would have a different target time for delivery. Think about it— they can’t deliver to every resort simultaneously, after all. I’m sure they must have to take all luggage to a central location to be sorted, then it’s packed onto the truck/s (or whatever kind of vehicle is used) and then delivery begins. Depending on the delivery vehicle’s capacity, it’s possible they may even have to go back for a second or third load.
Just the logistics & timing makes my head hurt… here’s how I imagine it’s done:
  • If cut off time to leave your bags is noon, then obviously that’s when they’ll begin pick-ups.
  • Collecting all the luggage is speedier than delivery, so let’s figure it probably takes 1.5-2 hours to gather from all resorts.
  • That leaves 2-ish hours to sort and reload the truck/s, in order to get bags to any resort by 4.
  • Typically, I would expect that luggage is delivered from wherever it’s sorted to resorts going from closest to furthest away. But in reality, the delivery order is probably also weighted by deluxe vs value.

This is all just speculation though. I have no insider knowledge or information. I’m just thinking it thru as to what makes sense logistically. Like I said, just thinking thru the process is migraine-inducing :scared:
