Thought I would give my two pennies worth, hope someone can find useful.
Me, my 2 teenage sons, my nephew and his friend, stayed at Port orleans riverside 5nights, 6nights econolodge on I.drive and 2nights at Royal Pacific Resort at Universal, we had a great time:
Highs;
Port Orleans Riverside,stayed in the Mansions bit,lovely, pretty, clean, relaxing place.
Weather, only rained on arrival evening, then sunny,warm
People in Orlando,really friendly, chatty and kind in the parks and shops, I have been 6times over the years and to me felt like smiley town-great
Booked a quick limo trip between hotels cost $114, well worth it for the look on lads faces,(it was nephew and friends first trip to America)
QSDP-Loads of food and snacks, kids loved it they are ages 16-21
TNA wrestling at Universal, we saw Hulk Hogan, and I was shouting like a granny watching Big Daddy on a Saturday afternoon on,T.V years ago
Virgin flight on time and great flight both ways
Lows;
Phone cards to phone home, pain in the neck, if you are relying on these to phone home, try some other way, I spent a fortune buying cards not getting through and it gobbling the credit, made worse we had to contact each familys family members!Finding out footie scores on holiday does seem a bit balmy!-but each to his own
Crowds, especially at Epcot, we have been before around this time for food and wine but there were big que's, we left and did a waterpark that day, We went Nov 4th-18th.
Tips:
If your celebrating a 21st or a birthday,get a t.shirt printed before you go, my nephew was 21 and lots of people made his day spectacular.
He also loved Crystal Palace for his character birthday brekkie! They brought out a little lit cupcake and a birthday card signed by characters, we had such a laugh, unforgettable.
If you stay at Port orleans take a cardigan and dont wear shorts,if you use the boat to Downtown Disney-(I was freezing)-night time.
Im usually a feel sick,nervy flight passenger and take travel tablets,etc etc, but this time I didnt take any, and I actually felt better, not woosey or dopey!(maybe thats just me though!)
Last one a bit random, we were told at Manchester to fill out one immigration form for us with the nephew, because he has same last name, and one for the friend, but were made to fill out seperate form for nephew in Orlando because he was over 18.Ended up nearly last out of airport.
Bubba gumps at universal was good meal and as usual sizzlers and ponderosa the lads loved, great for the pocket too.
Sorry for rambling on, thanks for help planning our family trip and hope to go again as soon as we can in another 2years maybe, never can say never about Florida.
