Being Waitlisted for some nights...what to do?

Hi All!
We are using family friends DVC points (they are the best!) for our upcoming trip in November, (3-8th). We have secured the 3-6th but waitlisted on the last two nights, (6-8th) at the Boardwalk. We are on two waitlists for the Boardwalk since February with no luck. At this point, since the trip is about 97 (not about...to be exact ) days out, we are thinking of just booking two nights at another resort without the DVC points, (there's nothing available now anyway).

Has anyone had luck with getting off the waitlist in November around Boardwalk hotels? We know the wine and dine half marathon is going on and its the end of the festival but we are still hoping we can get the last two nights!

Also, does anyone have any experience with 2/3 different hotel reservations per trip? How does that work? Do you have to change rooms, new magic bands, etc?

Thanks for reading! pixiedust:

I would book something else as a backup. That's one of the most crowded DVC weekends of the year.

That's my anniversary weekend and sometimes we go for F&W. Last time we had to stay at the Swan. Another time we had a WL come through about now but we were only able to get a 1 BR which we really didn't want. It's unlikely that that wait list will come through, so I would have another plan.

I think you may have a tough time getting those last two nights. During Food & Wine the weekends are even more crowded because a lot of locals stay at the EPCOT Hotels. Beside that, I believe it may also be Jersey week during that time period. Have you tried getting a room at Saratoga Springs ?? It is one of the largest DVC resorts and if there any rooms available on site they would be there. I believe you can link your reservations and Disney will transport your luggage to the next resort while you go to the parks.

Thank you and happy early anniversary! I think booking a back up is what I am going to end up doing tonight as a back up. I had good hopes in the winter but now I am thinking we won't get it. oh well!

Thank you....didn't know it was jersey week either! :sad2:

I checked for studios and 1 BRs for Nov. 6-8 on the DVC member site and there is nothing on site at all right now.

I agree with PPs that booking something else as a backup would be a good idea. By the time you find out if your waitlist has come through, you should be able to cancel your room only reservation without penalty. Good luck and have fun.
