I just recently found out that we are expecting our first baby ^_^. I am probably only a couple weeks into the pregnancy. What's the rule about rides and pregnant women??? Thanks for your help.

The common rule most of us go with is skip it if it has a height restriction (though I see Soar'n as fine), there are still lots of things you can ride! Congrats!!!

My first trip ever I was 7 months prego and I still had an awesome time there was tonnes I could do, and soooo many yummy treats to eat!!:rotfl:

I agree you can have a great time, I have my almost 4 week old on my lap, I went near 10 times all through my pregnancy. Extra food, water and potty stops are needed, but otherwise it can still be a ton of fun!!!!

I have been pregnant 2 times at DL. Last time I was very early also. My body did tell me to slow down in various ways. I personally wouldn't ride any coasters, TOT, the Mailboomer, the Teacups or anything like them, Splash Mountain.
I always ride POC pregnant.
Try not to walk a lot without sitting down often. Really listen to your body. I actually spotted a couple of days and my legs were killing me. I was nervous but everything turned out okay.
For me when I was further along in pregnancy at DL it was actually easier but everybody is different.

Everyone is different I was about 4 months when we took our daughter at xmas and I did go on splash mountain (couldnt help it) everyone women is different, I felt good, healthy and had no issues with the first pregnancy - BUT you have to be comfortable with yourself and the choices you make. Some womens are hardier then others! So be safe and enjoy there are other trips....and still lots of rides you can do other then fast jerky ones.

Thanks so much for all the tips. Were trying to decide if we should go this weekend. so i'll take all the info into consideration. so far things have been going well. just get heartburn and sleepy easily.

I'll be 23 weeks when we're there and I wish I could go on the tower of terror but I won't. I'm wondering about Thunder Mountain Railroad. Would that be too jerky? I can't remember.

I'm thinking of going by the rule of "anything my 4 year old can't do, I can't do".

I am 19 weeks now and I went when I was about 7 weeks along. I asked my Doctor and she said I was ok to ride all the rides if I was feeling ok. I did ride all the coasters (except Space...line too long for this pregnant momma!) and TOT and did ok. I did ride Mickeys ferris wheel in california and the swinging side made me soooo sick!!!! Go figure!
I agree with the above posts...depends on how you are feeling and what you and your doc are comfortable with. Maybe call your doctor and see what he or she recommends being this early.

I would not do Thunder mountain railroad. It is jerky and can jolt your back even when you aren't pregnant.

I went to DL when I was 10 weeks pregnant. My mom had some cousins visiting from France and we had been planning to take them to DL so I still went. Turned out my dad had a minor heart attack a couple of months before the trip and he also needed to take it easy. So, my mom and sister took the French cousins on the rougher rides while my dad and I sampled lots of great, shady benches (my DH stayed home to work). We still had a great time and even dozed off a couple of times!

My Doc everything w/ a height requirement. The problem is the jerking & the vibrations are especially dangerous during the first trimester & can cause hemoraging (dang it can't spell - bleeding!). Anyway -- so ride pirates a lot -- eat ice cream for two and have a great time! Do some extra shopping -- there's great stuff for babies! :littleangel:

I went to WDW when I was about 7 weeks. I avoided all of the "big rides" except for Splash. My OB said that Splash would be ok and I did ride it--it is my favorite! Just remember to drink lots of water as you will probably be walking around more than you do at home.

And I didn't bleed from rides. It was most likely from walking too much and I am a very active person. Pregnancy changes the game. Some people have no problem at all. If you do start to bleed get off your feet fast. I had 2 scary nights and I know I walked to much. if you start to feel it in your upper thighs get an ECV so you can relax. I just don't want anyone to feel the fear of wiping blood the way I did. If you listen to your body you will have a fantastic time. Shopping and eating are always fun too.
