Being penciled in??

I am being penciled in on Monday for our locations. We can't sign our contract until 8 months. How does being penciled in really help you? When would a lottery happen if necessary? On Monday or at the 8 month mark?

It seems like being penciled in doesn't really mean anything. That's fine if that is the case, I just want to be prepared!

The lottery happens a year out. The locations are then tentively held until you sign your contract. As far as I know this basically means the room is yours unless something else comes up.

Don't worry!

I was really nervous about this too... Our coordinator "penciled us in" a little over a year out and at that time he was able to see that there were no conflicts for our space. Then a couple of weeks of nail biting later, the penciled in became PENed in

I thought we were going to begin to send out info and was a bit impatient(I'm from New Jersey) desperate for the 8 month mark to pass....BUT honestly, it went really fast and now that it's here I finally feel like a bride...
