We will be staying at the BCV in August on pts and my sister and her family will be staying off site at a Marriott. This will be our first time staying at the BCV and using the Stormalong Bay pool area. My question is can I bring my sister and her family into Stormalong Bay as our guest? I know there's a lot of rules when it comes to using the pool area at the BC.

Thanks

Unfortunately, No. You can't bring guest. SAB is one of the most popular pools and the last few times I visited (Nov 07, August 06) they were definitely checking wrist bands. There is a quiet pool in the back of the villas, that is nice and it has a hot pool also.

If having them added to your reservation doesn't put your occupancy over the limit you can do that. If it does, I suggest going to a water park!

And if you aren't using the dining plan - otherwise it becomes a very expensive pool day.

Maybe you could all just meet at their pool offsite or make a water park day of it at TL or BB.

SAB lifeguards do check room IDs for every guest using the pool. Even three year olds.

Our last few trips, they were putting wristbands on us, which means they check for your resort card. The only time they didn't was on our January trip. Otherwise, they are very strict about it. Sorry.

We swam in SAB 1/4-1/11 and each time they "wrist-banded" us as we went to get towels...but I didn't see any checking except where you get towels...the wrist bands, tho, are neon colors (pink one time, yellow another)...so chances are the lifeguards could check w/out anyone noticing that they were checking!

where do you get the wrist bands from? do they give them to you when you check in or when you go to the pool the first time in the day?

and what makes that pool so special? i've never been so please to think that's a snide remark i'm just wondering why it's so special

Thanks everyone for responding. We do have a couple of water park days planned, just thought it would be nice to invite them over to the BC for an afternoon as well.

Another question: OK, Stormalong Bay is using waist bands in order to show that you are staying at the BC. I can understand this but, I have 3 teenage boys who really hates wearing waist bands especially when swimming. In Hawaii they let us put the bands onto our tote bags, will Stormalong Bay let the boys do this or do they require them to have them on their waist the whole time.

Thanks.

We had to have them on our wrist the whole time. The lifeguards checked at all spots.

I think the person giving them out puts it on your wrist.

Here is an example of Stormalong Bay. It is gorgeous. And very, very BIG. It has a huge slide, a sandy bottom (a section of the pool anyway), a whirlpool for the kids to enjoy, a lazy river for everyone, a beach area for kids and families, a great snack bar. Its just beautiful.
You get the wristbands from the lifeguards as you enter the pool area, and when you get your towels.

Lazy river??? Hah, more like teeny loop with an 8' depth and a swift current. You can almost get dizzy on that.

well, as long as you don't compare it to Blizzard Beach, it is a lazy river of sorts, I think. Its enough that you can get a raft and it lets you drift on the current, very nice.

I'm a fan of SAB's lazy river! I love to float and swin around and around and around. It's my favorite part!
