Being called back after your mammogram???

Mine will not do a diagnostic mammo without a script from the doctor showing the reason it is necessary (previous cancer, lump, etc). They will do a screening mammo without one. The reason is they cost more and they have to show the reason required on the insurance.

Very timely post for me, thanks OP:thumbsup2 Several months ago I had a mammo and was called back, results negative. Received a letter in the mail last month advising for an MRI which I had two weeks ago, result ~ need to come back in for an ultrasound on the 14th. I really don't know what to think at this point. I was told the radiologist would speak with me on the 14th. I assume the next step is a biopsy if they are concerned.

My mom had a double mastectomy about ten years ago, sis had ovarian cysts and had a hysterectomy about five years ago, Dad has bladder cancer for which he gets chemo treatments about every six months and has had skin and lung cancer as well. My family is full up with the big "C" so I'm a bit concerned:sad2:

Making matters worse is my insurance enrollment is due on the 10th. Our insurance is going from okay to subpar IMHO. I was going over the various add-ons today "just in case" but wish I had some type of answer one way or the other so I'd know whether to take critical illness or supplemental to cover my ridiculous oop and deductible expenses.
