Which one is best? Over the last week I have used them all! ;) The first room I painted was with Ben Moore, Spring Thaw. I went with Ben Moore because I wanted to try it, liked the color and so I forked over the $40 something dollars for the gallon, which did cover the room, although I needed two coats. The next project was bedroom #2. I needed a blue that went with a Docker's comforter set that I bought; Ocean "something". khaki, navy blue, plaids and chambray. I picked out a satin Duration Sherwin Williams paint, Tidewater. Also $40 something per gallon. Loved the color. When the room was done, I got the comforter out so I could admire my work. HATED IT!! It wasn't the right blue. I took the pillow sham and headed off to Home Depot since the Sherwin Wms. store was closed. After a lot of paralysis by analysis, I ended up with Liberty Blue. Last night I put the premium Behr paint, on sale for $19 around the ceiling, baseboards and windows. I finished rolling it today. It covered well, rolled out certainly as well as the other paints and I didn't need a second coat. That of course could be because I have gained "painting experience" and there were two new coats on the wall anyway. The color is perfect. Next room; bedroom #3. Sherwin Williams antique white. I bought that yesterday and painted the room today. I am all done painting for this month. Upstairs bathroom next month. That said, I didn't see any difference between the "name brand" paints and Behr except that the Behr was half of the price. I am also getting back a $5 rebate, which makes it less than half of the price. The second best product? Goof off 2. Takes of old latex paint. Unfortunately I can't take a bath in it.

I would check with Sean Hannity. Whichever paint he uses will suit you best. That liberal paint is no good. ;)

DH does a lot of painting, and he likes Sherwin Williams best.

I have used Behr and Sherwin Williams. I like the SW better than Behr but I still think Behr is a good brand. I don't think you could go wrong with any of them.

I always use Behr now that Kyanize is hard to find...I think Behr covers the best.

I'm just in awe that you painted 2 rooms. I always want to do my own painting but I get frightened easily;)

Actually three rooms in one week and one of those rooms twice! :rotfl2: I could have painted four rooms! It is much easier to paint when you know you need to get new carpeting when you are done. There is freedom in not worrying about paint drops on carpet!

I own a residential house painting company, and SW Duration is by far the best paint money can buy. Behr covers nicely, but in my opinion is not nearly as durable or cleanable. You may save money on the paint up front, but is the difference in price worth having to paint the room more often? Another good option at SW is their Super Paint...not quite as pricey, and still an excellent coating. The nice thing about the Duration is its cleanability...nothing will stick to it!

I agree. I will use Duration in the family room, stairway and hall. I need to be able to scrub that. Bedrooms really stay pretty clean. This was my first venture into color. I usually buy Sherwin William's Dover White (old formula)

Man, I miss the days when everyone wanted Dover White....interior painting was so much easier back then!!

I have cathedral ceilings in my family room, living room and bedroom. Those are even Dover White! If you miss Dover White, I will let you come to my house and repaint anything you want (except for the bedrooms I just painted) in Dover White! ;)

I don't care for Behr. I like Dutch Boy the best from Menards. I know this wan't one of your choices, but I love the coverage and the flat finish.

My DH would say Benjamin Moore because he works for a Benjamin Moore store but we have always gotten our paint from Lowes or HD - Behr or Olympic (that is before he started working for Ben Moore!! LOL) Good job on painting all that in 1 week.

Benjamin Moore. The folks at our Benjamin Moore store have been wonderful with all types of decorating advice and stain matching also. I never received that type of help at Home Depot or Lowes.
