What are your thoughts?? Good for younger kids? Any opinions would be great. Thanks :)

I went and looked at the Disney website and it lists Preschoolers-Adults as the age interest; however, younger kids might get board on the tour. The walking tour presents a good amount of information about hydroponics and aquaculture. If your children are 10 or younger it might not be that interesting for them. Still it is a cool experience and I think its worth the price; $20 adult/ $16 child.

Totally worth the price! Preschoolers may not enjoy it but I totally recommend it for school age children. I learned a lot and our guide made it such fun! So much fun being "up close and personal" and our group even got to feed the fish! :yay:

I think it is an interesting and informative tour for school aged children (6 and older) and the price is reasonable. Kids younger than 6 make get bored during some portions of the tour.

My son and I did this tour last April when we went on our Mother Son trip before he graduated HS. We enjoyed the tour but our guide was a little dry. I think she was a college student and just hadn't gotten comfortable in the position...? That being said I would do it again. I agree that unless you have kids that are interested in growing things it could be boring to them. There were a couple kids on our tour and they were not interested at all in what was going on. I would say that they were under the age of 10. It would be a good tour to use for homeschoolers to tie in with a science unit they are doing.

We took the tour in 2011. My daughter had just finished kindergarten. There was another little girl on the tour as well. They had a blast. You get to feed fish, release lady bugs, and they get a cute certificate at the end. I did take my 2 year old at the same time. Which wasn't the best idea. You can not bring your stroller with you.

No kids, but I love this tour. It was so cool to get off the boats and get close to the plants. Our CP guide was fantastic!

Not to hijack the thread but how much walking do you do on this?

Thinking my mom might like it, but she's 70 and her knee/feet are not the best.

Thanks.

The tour is all walking an wheel chairs are not available for this tour. There was a point about half way through that we were able to sit for a few minutes while the guide talked. I believe the tour was an hour long give or take.

Thanks everyone, I appreciate your feedback. My kids will be 5 & 7 when we are there next, it's a definite possibility! It sounds like fun!

We did the tour when our kids were 6 and 9 and they both loved it as much as we did. Lots on fun information, feeding fish, checking out alligators and that special thrill of feeling like you get to do somehing that nobody else does. Worth the money.

In response to the question about walking, its not a lot of walking, but it is a lot of standing. There are spots to sit along the way, but to be able to see a lot you will want to be up for most of it.

An hour is not so bad.

She's got a green thumb and I thought she might like this. I did not get the green thumb gene but I'd go on it for her.

I think it definitely depends on the CP. Our tourguide was a little dry and not super informative... his responses were consistently of the 'Well, this isn't really my expertise' variety. But we passed other CPs that were really into it and a lot more knowledgeable. Soo... our CP would not have been great for a small child, but other's are probably more interactive.
