My DH and I will be at Disney for a late anniversary trip and I want to do one of the behind the scenes tours- I don't know if this is the place to ask but hope someone who has done some of them can help. Since they vary greatly in price
it is difficult to say if it is better to do the 7 hour one or a couple of the shorter ones. Any reviews or comments would be appreciated. Thanks for your help.

The Kings to the Kingdom tour is very good. My tour guide was Heather. You go both behind and on stage as the word goes, plus go on some rides. On my tour iwent on Pirates, jungle cruise, and haunted mansion.

I personnaly would rather do several individual tours simply because you see and learn more than you would on a 7 hour tour just hitting the highlights of the parks. The only advantage of the 7 hour tour is that you get to tour MGM which doesnt have an individual tour. If you go individual, definitely do Keys to the Kingdom at MK, Wild by Design at AK, and Undiscovered future world at EPCOT. Consider Back stage safari at AK and behind the seeds at EPCOT(a cheap one-$12) Most individual tours are 3-4 hours long. Spending the $$ on the longer tour would only wet my appetite to take a more detailed tour and spend more money. Unless of course, cost and tour dates and times are an issue.

i would recommend 3: the Keys to the Kingdom in MK; Backstage Safari in AK; and Segway at epcot. not necessarily in that order, but any of those would be an excellent choice. :earboy2:

Of all the tours I have taken at WDW, by far the best was Wild by Design at Animal Kingdom. I believe our guide was named Paul. He was outstanding. I learned more from that one tour than all the others put together. It was so enjoyable and included a delicious brunch at Tucker House. If you decide to do this tour, be sure to eat breakfast BEFORE you go. We didn't as we thought it was included (which it was - but not until halfway through the tour) and we were pretty hungry by the time we stopped to eat. What ever you decide to do - enjoy! :flower:

We've done Keys to the Kingdom & Around the World on a Segway (see pic below). Both were well worth the $$$ & :hourglass . DW & I think the Segway tour is the best thing we've done at WDW. We have ressies to do it again next July.

DH and I have done some of the tours, but I highly recommend the 7 hr. Backstage Magic Tour. It seems pricier than the other tours, but for us it actually worked out to be the best bargain. It is the only tour that does not require park admission, so you don't need to use up a day of your park passes. Your tour will begin at the Guest Services window outside of Epcot. You are taken by motor coach (very nice tour bus, NOT the usual WDW transportain buses) to each of your destinations. Each person is given their own cold water bottle at the beginning of the tour. A full, all-u-can-eat lunch at Mama Melrose is included, and you will also receive a pin at the end of the day. It is a very comprehensive tour and worth every penny. There are a few discounts available for all the tours, so be sure to ask about them before you book a tour.

I did Keys to the Kingdom. It was informative, but I actually didn't really learn anything new. Most of my pre-trip reading told me everything I learned on the tour. My major disappointment was having to wait in line with everyone else to get on the rides. I had also read someone's account of their tour, and they said that they got to wear headsets so the guide could tell them about the ride as they rode it--we didn't get headsets. All the guide really told us about the rides was where to find some hidden Mickey's--those that everyone knows about, like the one on the table in the HM and the one near the end of PotC.

I did really like getting to go "backstage" and into the utilidors. And it was oddly fascinating to see characters without their heads, and to see Aurora walking around with Aladdin.

Lunch at the Columbia Harbor House is included and you get a really cool key pin as a keepsake.

I think this is a good tour for a WDW novice, not for seasoned visitors and WDW-obsessed folks like me. I could have been the tour guide!

Hope this helps a bit.

me & my fiance did the dolphins in depth tour at epcot which is a dolphin encounter & educational experience at living seas it was very informational & awesome to be in the water with those fun, sweet dolphins. we also did the backstage safari tour at animal kingdom which was just great i have never seen animals this close before, you also got to see how they take care of the animals & the veterinary care, which my fi loved as he's going for his dvm. both were in the morning midweek & so much fun! i would recommend either. :goodvibes

The Backstage Magic Tour, worth every penny.
