This is my pre-trip report for our B-I-G 11 person family trip. This is the first time that I am trying a pre-trip report! I hope that I follow through and find this a successful journey.
Hey Disers Hey what? Introduce yourself No Way Introduce yourself OK: (For those who have a deep love and appreciation for Bring It On All or Nothing)
My name is: Casey
me (37); dh (37); dd (10); ds (6); FIL (60); MIL (60); BIL1 (33); SIL (34); dneice1 (2); dneice2 (1) and last but not least BIL2 (30) single and available!
My immediate clan, my ILs and BIL2 will be in Disney from 6/22 6/30. We are flying into Tampa and driving over to Orlando. Much cheaper flight than to fly into MCO and I actually have a great rate on a car rental so far (Im still checking everyday for better rates, but doubt that I will be able to top what I have Ive impressed myself.) I have a standard SUV (Trailblazer like) for $192.85 total through Alamo. Toot-toot (thats me tooting my own horn!)
BIL1 and his clan will be arriving on 6/24 6/29. They are flying into MCO and using ME .
Dh and I are DVC members and we are treating his family to this trip to celebrate the ILs 40th wedding anniversary. We are all staying at BWV in guaranteed boardwalk view rooms. The group that arrives on the 22nd will be in a 2bdrm and the group coming on the 24th will be in a studio.
I made ADRs at the 180+10 mark and we got everything that we wanted, also we are all going to be on the DDP (this is the first year that one of our kiddos will actually be an adult. I am planning on letting dd and ds split up their food depending on what they want to eat. Heres my ADRs .
6/22 LTT for dinner (this is my favorite first night dinner spot) It puts me in the Disney mood.
6/23 Sci-Fi for the latest lunch possible. My kids want to eat here fine well go, but its not my first choice. (I think that we are going to pay out of pocket for this meal because it should be the cheapest and with the way that I have ADRs there is one more TS than what is allotted so we have to pay for 1 anyway.
6/24 Le Cellier for dinner. Dh just loves it here. I enjoyed the Mushroom Filet and will plan to get that again. Dd really liked her Chocolate Mousse back in August. I am sure it will be another big hit.
6/25 CP for dinner. I figured we had to hit all the big character meals with the little girls with us. What a perfect way to end the first full day at WDW than to eat with Pooh and friends.
6/26 BIL1 and family will be eating at Hollywood & Vine character meal. My kiddos are way too big to go to that meal and for once I can say that I am quite thankful. We all will join up together for dinner at 1900 Park Faire where we will be celebrating ILs 40th anniversary. I will be ordering a cake or maybe just a slipper and Mickey/Minnie Chocolate figurine things.
6/27 Ohana for dinner. Again another fave of dhs. I could really pass eating here, but I do love the view and I make the kids get dressed in a Hawaiian theme and they look great, so I go and eat whatever. I am not a big fan of the skewed meats, so I basically just stick to the other stuff.
6/28 Norway Princess Breakfast. DN1 is fully aware of the Princesses and she will get her fill. My dd and ds are not so hyped about this, but hey suffer and take one for the team. Luckily ds is a foodie and he can focus on that aspect of the experience. For dinner we will be eating at Spoodles (never been). Hoping its good, but we wanted to stay local to the BWV since BIL1 and family will be leaving the next day.
6/29 Back to original clan, we are eating at Coral Reef for dinner. I have arranged for an underwater diver to hold up sign that says Happy 40th Anniversary for ILs. I will most likely let dh take the credit for this since it is his parents, but deep down they should be showing me the love!
As for day itinerary, well, I have ideas, but we sort of just go. Since being DVC, we go every year and dont really worry about missing something cause we are coming back.
I can say that we will go to MK the first day we get there, always do. I think our ADRs basically dictate which part we will go to. There are a couple of things that we plan to do at some point of our trip.
The day that BIL1 and fam go to MGM for breakfast, we are going to Blizzard Beach. My kiddos really like it there and it has become something that we must do when we visit.
For 6/27 the guys are planning to do the Richard Petty Ride-a-long. DH, BIL2 and myself gave this to FIL for his 60th birthday. We opted to do the ride-a-long because if we got him the one he drives himself he would end of doing 55mph around the track and that just aint right! So, after FIL got his gift certificate, we ended up chipping in and getting it for BIL2 for his 30th birthday. I also bought one for dh that I plan to give to him on Fathers Day and know that BIL1is getting one for either Fathers Day or his birthday 6/15.
Maybe us girls will do something spa like or maybe just shop at DTD tough choice huh, Ill have to think about that one.
We will also mini golf one evening. The kiddos demand this. Back in August our last night at WDW youd think that the kids would want to go ride rides, no not mine they said, lets go play mini golf! What is wrong with these kids I think that they have lost their minds ..
Some other random thoughts MIL has MS and cant walk for extended periods of time, so we will rent a scooter from Randys Mobility. We used them the last time we went (a couple of yrs ago). Great company, they bring the scooter to your room and also pick up from your room. Last time we paid and called it a gift for her birthday, this time I passed along the web site and said here you go. (Hint I am not paying again. Its worth the money, but just not my money this time.)
Have made kennel arrangements for Bonnie (cocker spaniel 11 yrs old) and Clyde (Springer Spaniel 6 months old).
I checked to make sure that my mom will stop by and water my flowers, so I do not return to dead flowers. Happened back in August!
****Note to self, need to find a place for Simon (our guinea pig) to crash while we are away maybe mom!
So for the moment I am 35 days and counting. I am very excited and am doing anything to kill time. At least it is soccer season and my weekends are very busy, but my hard time is during the week when I sit at work and wish the day away!
