I think I may be on my own for these last few updates, because Chuck is hard at work on the camper and I want to get this thing done before it's time to start the pretrip for the next one!! I'm sure Chuck will chime in sometimes!
Day Seven Part Four
Our last night in WDW! We decided to do our very favorite non park thing and revisit our old haunt the Polynesian Resort and watch Wishes from the beach. I think well be doing this ever trip from now on.
Instead of taking the bus over to MK, we decided to go the long way around and take the bus to EPCOT and then monorail over to MK and the Polynesian. This also gave me a chance to continue in my quest to get a picture of every color monorail.
A monorail was waiting when we got there. Got the black one!
Of course, we asked to ride in the front, but it was taken. The CM said we could wait for the next one, and we said, Sure! Weve got nothing but time.
The next one was red and the front was empty. Yea!
Load em up!
As always, we plotted about how we could drive the monorail home. Em was sure she could work the controls.
Oh no, we werent doing anything bad.
The cab of the monorail was decorated with balloons. We asked the driver if it was a special day. He said it was his ten year anniversary. Hed been driving the monorail for TEN years. We told him congratulations, then he said, Ten years is too long. So we let it go. It was a nice ride anyway. I like how the sun is setting a little more in each picture.
I love the headlights on the monorails. Okay, I love everything about the monorails.
At the TTC, we hopped on the resort monorail to take the full circle instead of walking over to Poly. (which is a lovely walk BTW)
No front this time, but I got a couple more colors while we waited.
If you can see around Chucks big old head, this is pink!! I think he was jealous of all the attention I was giving the monorails.
Em was once again contemplating stealing the monorail.
As a side note, the first time we went to WDW as a family, the first monorail we rode was pink. Something horrible and vile had happened in the car we were in and it stank to high heaven. From then on the pink monorail has been known as Stinky Pinky. Our Stinky Pinky this night was quiet and didnt stink at all.
I love this shot of The Grand Floridian. Im gonna stay there one day. One day
..
Caught the silver monorail at the MK stop.
Couldnt convince Chuck to let us jump off and get tickets to MK just for the one night. Too bad.
Soon we were back at our beloved Poly. We only had that one weekend there, but it is just so special to us. Em got to visit a lot of her old friends.
They all remembered her and were glad to see her, except for the nose picking one.
Jake helped me look through the gift shop. No prints from my guy here, but there were some nice ones. I decided to stick with what I had.
We also visited the gallery there. They have beautiful things. Id love to have this for our bedroom.
We picked up some Mickey head bars in Captain Cooks and made our way down to the beach. We had excellent seats for the Electric Water Parade.
More coming soon!
