Happy Father's Day!

We would collapse in the room and just lay there for long minutes trying to cool down. I think even my eyeballs were sweating on this trip, and I am pretty used to the heat most of the time.

French Quarter was fabulous as always! I love that it has all those trees -- it made walking to the food court to refill our mugs so enjoyable!

Can't wait to read all about your trip!!!

Day One Part one

One the road again!!

After many trials, traumas and exams, the time had come again for the nuts4wdw clan to return to WDW! WooHoooo!!!! Instead of our normal 2 AM departure time, we had to pick the children up from their half days at school. We were on the road at about 12:30 Argghh….the light! the light! It burns us!!!! The trip seems a whole lot longer when you are actually awake for most of it!!

Em and her newest friend, Jacen (named in honor of Star Wars Weekend)

The miles seemed to pass by slowly (Those darn speed limits!) , but soon we were seeing familiar sights.

You know you are getting close when you start seeing the Disney billboards!

Sorry about the quality of these, but they were taken from a car going about 80 miles an hour. I am quite sure Lynn is mistaken, that particular part of the highway is 60 mph. yeah, you keep telling yourself that.

SWW!!!!!!!

Em and Chuck will be trying this one this time. Believeeeeeee……..

We’ve been watching them build this building since 2002 and they are still not finished.

We were really looking forward to this one!

But here is the best sign of all!!

And we were almost as excited to see this one.

Yes we are finally here!

It felt good to be at POP again. It’s so familiar to us and this will be our longest stay there ever! We’ll be on Disney overload!! We’ve been there enough, I feel like Norm off at Cheers. When we get to the gate it’s like “Chuck’!

We didn’t have to wait in line very long before Chuck was trying to use his masculine charm to get us a good room. Use? When one exudes such manly manliness one does not have to USE said charm!

It didn’t work. I think she was just too overwhelmed Not everyone can handle his full time manliness.

Well, we thought it didn’t. Looking back over our trips, we have never gotten any of our room requests!! We had asked for something in the fifties or sixties overlooking the lake. We always get the best rooms when we don’t ask!

Looking back at it now and how hot it got over our week, it was really a terrific location! We were in the eighties building, with a lovely view of the parking lot. But we could see the bus stop from our room and it was just a short walk across that lot to get there! We were on the second floor at the corner right nest to the Rubic’s Cube stairs. I thought that that would be loud but being on the end wasn’t bad at all.

Here is our room, clean, cool, and quiet. Cool, a feature which we soon came to appreciate

The eighties section is, of course, themed around the eighties which includes computer stuff which Jake loved.

We hurried to unpack so we could get into the parks before closing. Jake set up our window with the design you all chose. I think it looked cool and we could see it from the bus as we left each day. I didn’t see any other windows decorated, but we will definitely be doing it again.

As soon as humanly possible, we were on our way to our favorite park. Restroom? You can use the restroom in the Park!

I loved the window! We kind of Disneyfied the room as well, but I forgot to take a picture. We had a balloon and all our friends and a Mickey Mouse privacy curtain I put up between the room and the vanity area.

Oooooo it started! Can't wait to hear all about Epcot it's a favorite of mine too.

It takes about seven hours, but Chuck made it down there in 6 hours and 28 minutes, a fact that he proceed to tell everyone he met all week.

I must mention, it took 7 hours and 35 minutes to get home. Priorities.

Why am I suddenly reminded of National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation???

Do you take 95 through Florida? We never see that many Disney billboards coming down 75 and the Turnpike -- but I remember all of those on 95 when we came down from Charleston.
