Beginner question: What do you use vellum for?

I am just starting to scrapbook, and when I was in Target a few weeks ago I picked up some packs of vellum on clearance. But now that I have them I have no idea that to do with them! Pics would be especially welcome--I love looking at what people on this board are doing!

You could print out a title on vellum or a pretty saying to put on your page, use it as matting. The last vellum I used was over so so pictures of us girls alongside Cape Cod Canal. It was in the spring, all the pics were grey, the sky, the water, I almost didn't use the pictures because they were so blah, but when I put the vellum over the pictures, it really adding to the layout. Made us look like we were in fog. (okay, most days I am in a fog but that is a whole 'nother story.)

Just play with it and have fun.

if you have a busy print paper it will tone it down an bit, I also use it to print titles on if I want the paper underneath the show.
I have also seen where people cut out a square in the vellum to showcase a person without blocking out the rest of the people completely.

here is one that I did for a swap the treasure quote was printed on vellum and attached with eyelets. the only thing you have to be careful of is the ink will smear if you touch it before it dries. I try to print on a transparency setting when using vellum.

I like vellum for titles and journaling and also as a larger photomat. Just have fun with it!

I used vellum in our Disney World album in 2004. I didn't want to use our actual autographs from the characters in the scrapbook since they were in an autograph book, so I made copies of the autographs onto the vellum. I did this at Office Max (before I got my color copier) All of the autographs were in matching colors of the characters (like Pooh was and Tigger was orange) I then cut the vellum and put it over patterened or plain paper as the pages were. Wish I knew how to add it to this. I've gotten many compliments over this technique. Best of luck.
