Hi,
I have stayed on Disney Property every time I have visited Disney World, but this year we are doing a Disney Cruise and to save some money, we have booked the Best Western at Downtown Disney. We are traveling during Thanksgiving week. Has anyone ever stayed here that can give me a recent review? Trip Advisor has some mixed reviews so I was curious as to what I should expect. We are staying there for 3 nights after our cruise and will spending most of that time in the parks, but I do want a clean, spacious place! PLEASE reply if you have any info on this hotel!! I booked through Priceline for the 1st time in my life, so I am stuck. :headache: Kinda wish I had waited a while and tried for a 4 star resort at DD Disney, but I was a newbie at it! Thanks and I look forward to hearing from all you Disboaders soon!! :cutie:

I just booked to stay there the third week in July. I booked through mouse savers and got the upgrade to a balcony fireworks view. I will let you know how it is - but it won't be until July! I went back and forth between this and POP century, but at the end I opted for this - less money and hopefully a bigger room with a balcony. I hope the pool area is nice - my girls and I like to go back to the hotel in the late afternoon and lay by the pool. Another plus is that it is just up the street from Sweet Tomatoes - where we end up for what seems like one meal a day while we are on vacation!!

We are staying here in less than 2 weeks...yeah!!! I will let you know after we return.

We stayed there about a year ago and it was clean. Our major issue was the air conditioner didn't work, they sent maintenance twice, then finally moved us to another room on another floor where it did work but just barely.

We have avoided the place since then.

I plan on booking it for 1 night in Sept, the nigt before we check into the Poly.. we want to go to DTD to shop that night and we have Trex Adr..
We were going to do the Hilton DTD but when I googled the reviews they werent very good plus I noticed they have a parking fee

Okay...this hotel was perfect for us. Great location...easy to get to the disney parks from downtown disney or really quick drive to I-4 for the universal stuff. The staff was great. Front desk asked if we minded a handicap room. We took it but really didn't like the bathroom. It was all one space including the shower with a curtain separating it from the rest of the bathroom. We requested a different hotel room and was on the 14th floor...wonderful view for the night fireworks at disney!!! The food at the hotel was great. Very yummy breakfast. Pool was the hottest pool I have ever been in...very very warm!!! We would stay here again!

We spent one night there a couple weeks ago before we checked in onsite at WDW. One night was enough for me. I booked the Disney view through Mousesavers and that was the best thing about it. It was described as being recently updated with granite countertops. The room we had did have a slab of granite on top of a beat-up cabinet with an old TV. The carpet was new, but the walls were filthy. The bathroom is old and the tub was stained. The sheets were old - very "nubbly" feeling. There are timeshare people in the lobby and they were somewhat obnoxious - they would whistle and try to get your attention. However, no one ever called us in the room about timeshares. The other employees were very friendly.

I don't think I would stay there again. I read the mixed reviews on TripAdvisor and wish I would have listened!

I really hope you guys enjoy your stay there.

We were booked for Bahama Bay Resort from June 17th - June 29th, and then we were originally booked for the BW DTD for the dates of June 29th - July 7th.
We got to orlando a day early and checked out both places. We LOVED (and continued to love during our stay), Bahama Bay.... but were totally grossed out by the Best Western!
We went to the Best Western and asked to see a room. The clerk was polite, but not really friendly at all. She gave us a key to a disney view room (which we had booked through bookit.com for $69 a night)... and we couldn't get in with the key. We went back downstairs and got a key to another room. We were amused when we went back up, in a pretty good mood, until we opened the door. It was stale smelling... like a bad air conditioner or something, and damp feeling. The bathroom was not clean, there was mold on the tiles by the toilet, and the walls were dirty. My daughter looked at me with a horrified look on her face and asked if we had to stay there for 8 nights. I said NO WAY.
When we handed the key back, the desk clerk barely looked at us, she was dealing with an unhappy guest who apparently had a leak in her room (and it was PPPPOURING out). The desk clerk gave them a key to a different room, and the manager who was standing there, but wasn't saying anything, wrote their room number down on a pad with about 15 other room numbers.

We checked into Bahama Bay the next day, and it was/is beautiful! We arranged to spend an extra 5 nights here (tonight is our last night:( ), and we called bookit.com, whose customer service is wonderful!, and they helped me change our reservation at no charge, from the Best Western to the Doubletree Orlando Universal for the remaining nights. We had other choices, but that, for us, was fine. We visit both Disney and Sea World, and have no set schedule. We check into there tomorrow.. hope it's as nice as the reviews!

When I called bookit.com about how unhappy I was with the Best Western Downtown Disney, the man said he gets a lot of complaints about it.

There have been positive reviews on it, so hopefully, you guys will love your stay and have a nice room. Good Luck.

We stayed here the night before our recent visit to Walt Disney World. I'm glad we didn't pay extra for the fireworks view. That part was just okay. The king bed, sofa and chair were comfortable. We were comped two drinks at the bar since the hallway of our floor was being painted. Check in and check out were quick and it was great getting to the Contemporary the next morning where there was no line at checkin and our room was waiting.

We had actually stayed at this address on our honeymoon but it was so long ago nothing was familiar. For all I know they tore down the old building and rebuilt.
