Before Checkin/After Checkout - Using monorail/bus system

For our 5 night stay, I would like to book an early flight (arriving way before 3pm check in) and evening for return flight. My question is: If we arrive before check in will we be able to use monorail/bus system to go to the parks. I ask because I thought that using WDW transportation system ties in with your room key card? Same question for last day when we check out - I'd like to be able to visit parks before heading out for our evening flight, but after we're "checked out" will we be able to use the monorial/bus? Will the resort hold your bags for you even after checkout and before checkin?

Thank you.

Hi,

You're on the right track..once you arrive, the first thing you should do is check in. Your room may not be ready, but you can get your park passes and go right out while they store your bags.

As for the day you leave, your park passes are good until midnight of the night you check out. And yes, you can leave your bags at the hotel after you check out and enjoy the rest of the day at the parks, the pool, shopping, whatever!

We do the same thing...earliest flight out and latest one back. On our last trip we got to the resort at 10:30 am and our room wasn't ready until 3:30. We checked our bags( we stayed at WL) and then went to the front dest, got our room key and park pass hoped on the boat and went to MK. Came back around 7 pm called for our bags which were deliverd to the room a half hour later.

Leaving we had a 7 pm flight. we checked out at 9:30 and went to two parks that day. We had a car rental the last two days so we had our bags with us.

Yes, you can use the busses and monorails all day on check in/out days.

From a practical standpoint, it doesn't really matter as nobody checks your resort keys when you get on the transportation.

Some people claim there are rules that say you can only use the transportation if you are staying in a Disney Resport. Others point out rules that basically say anyone with business at Disney can use the transportation system. But, as I said, the point it moot.

Excellent news. Thank you all. I want to make the most out this trip and stretch it out for all its worth :teeth:
