Before & after pics

Here are some pictures of my front bed in early spring and now.

The shrub roses are in the back, the dark purple and pale purple flowering things are campanula, bright pink things are dianthus. There are daylilies, cala lilies and some other stuff not blooming yet. Will update as things come in.

Great shot. The before is so lush and green and clean. I don't see any dead leaves. You must work very hard to maintain that.
The after is beautiful, great combo of colors. I just read yesterday that purple, pinks, lavenders and blues are the inviting and welcoming colors. They should be used in the front of the house. Your bed is certainly a good example of that.

Thanks Deb. I do try to keep it clean. My boys play in the front a lot and I usually putter around while they play. Now that everything has grown in (I started a lot of the perennials from seed 2 years ago) and is flowering I can see that I definitely need to move things around. A lot of the campanula has grown taller than I expected and will need to go in the back. My daylilies and calla lilies have stayed small and will need to move to the front. I don't think I will ever be satisfied.

I love the before and after pictures. The garden is gorgeous.

The campanula plant is something I learned about here on this board, I believe from Gina who grows it in honor of her grandmother. Yours looks beautiful.

And I am beginning to learn that part of gardening is the moving of plants around.

And you started many of your plants from seeds!! Wow!
