Beers Around the World - Yeungling in China??

wow thats crazy i didnt even notice that last wk. Dh kept going back to get carlsberg lol...and yes they still have bass in the UK

I check Beer into my backdoor at Publix, and Yeungling comes in all the time....I had NO idea till about 2 Years ago, it was made IN PA!:confused3  I ALWAYS thought it was a Chinese beer due to the name.:headache:

OK....we are going in May and the beers around the world sounds like a great idea.

What sizes do they have? Taste test size? How many would that be?

the only place we saw a sampler was at Biergarten in Germany (im sure other sit down places have them) Dh just got beer from each stand in each country, i wanna say we paid about $7-8 a beer.

I didn't know Yuengling was in China but I don't know it's at the Promenade Refreshments and at the Fife and Drum Refreshment stand in World Showcase too.

Yuengling seems to be the "cool beer" right now. Not too many people have heard of it so it comes in and everyone thinks it's the best beer around simply because it's different. This happened a few years ago when Rolling Rock (another Pennsylvania beer) was the big thing. Heck, I was even charged for a foreign beer once when I ordered a Rolling Rock (not at Disney World).

I just think it's a ploy to try and get everyone to spell Yuengling correctly. Next thing you know, we'll all have to spell Schuykill and learn how to pronounce it (if you are not from PA, don't worry about that last comment).

It took me a while to pronounce Yuengling correctly. As far as I know it rhymes... Ying Ling.

As for Schuykill... I always figured it was pronounced sky kill (sch as in school and ignore the u) or do you guys pronounce the sch like the English schedule (shedule)?

Methinks ordering beer at WDW is more about having a "beer" rather than an "indigenous beer". Too bad, because at one time there were some genuine finds at WDW for beer lovers.

I believe it is pronounced "School-kill". someone correct me if I am wrong.

I believe the UK also offers a sampler. The other pavilions offer draft beers in a standard plastic pint cup and sometimes a larger size (I know I've gotten a beer around 20 oz. in Norway before). If you can handle mixing, some of the pavilions also offer some really good alcoholic drinks as well. France is noted for their Grey Goose and Grand Marnier slush drinks - I also had some sparkling vodka that was very good there.

Have fun - and remember, the polar bear in the maelstrom is NOT real and not trying to eat you.

Also, it's spelled SchuyLkill and is pronounced as Schoolkel or Sku (long u) kel (short e) with the accent on the second syllable.
