Beer

After doing the tour around Epcot if you still find yourself looking for one more, walk over to Big River Grille at the Boardwalk. They brew right on site. Last summer we vacationed in Nashville and found out that Big River is a chain - 3 brewery restaurants in Tennesee and the one at Boardwalk. The one in Nashville is enormous. My husband loved their Hefeweizen and Pilsner. They had flights at the Nashville location, not sure about at Boardwalk and have no idea what they are currently brewing.

+1 on Big River. They have a good selection of 'year round' brews and usually a seasonal. Go at a slow time, like mid afternoon, and ask for a tour of the brewing area.

I hope to be there tomorrow!!:hyper:

On our last trip, it was a Spaten from Germany and a "half and half" from England. And Edgar and Sig from "Deadliest Catch" were in the Rose and Crown while I was in there getting my beer.

For a great beer location I like Rose & Crown at the UK pavilion. If you'd like to try something different, sample the Unibroue beers as Le Cellier in Canada.
They have a higher alcohol content than most beers--around 8-9%.

I'll second the Unibroue beers at Le Cellier. Maudite is my favorite. It means "the damned". My server told me it was because it's a damned good beer. I've been able to find it here at my local World Market. I was so thrilled. I'm gonna have to crack one open tonight!

If you have a beer in each country, it'll run about $75-$85 per person (not including tips). But you can't put a price on riding the Maelstrom completely bombed out of your gourd. I'm pretty sure that polar bear was real....

Hello from a fellow Clevelander!:)

Maudite...is this an eastern Canada beer? Or can this be found in many Canada locations? I've never heard of it and I grew up 1/2 an hour from Canada...Haven't lived that close for a while, so I'm hoping to find this beer somewhere close to me. My hubby LOVES canadian beer! The best canadian beer he can get is Molson...Is Maudite better than Molson?

And back in the day, the Ringnes in Norway was wonderful.

true dat. i like carlsberg, but it's a DANISH beer! how can they sell a danish beer in norway?? (i know, i know, carlsberg purchased the ringnes brand and no longer distributes it outside of norway, but still...)

Big River is owned by Gordon Biersch. They have several brands that all brew similar beers. You can find their locations in several states.

Maudite is a far superior beer than Molson, there is really no comparison. But Maudite is Belgian Strong Dark Ale, and may not appeal to your husband if he likes Molson.

When I spoke with the brewer in Dec. 2006, he explained that he had his 'corporate recipies' for the regular line-up, but was free to experiment with small batch brews. He had a pumpkin ale at that time.

I think so. I have some in my fridge now. I bet you can find it near you. Check with your local distributors or find out if you have a World Market (mostly a home furnishings store) by you. They actually have a little beer section next to their wine section.

I highly recommend it. But, I don't meet many beers that I don't like.

Boddington's at Rose and Crown. It is only good on tap and not a ton of places have it on tap so drink it up when you can.:drinking1
