Beer Mug

You get 20oz instead of 16oz for the same price, plus you get to keep a cool mug. It also depends on how much you plan on drinking if you will make up the cost difference. My dh has done it every cruise.

Yes, 1000 times yes!

I was pleasantly surprised at how reasonably priced the beer was when purchased using the beer mug. That and you get a great souvenir as well.

Does anyone have a picture if the current mugs being used?

I do not have a picture, but they are the same two that have always been used. No new ones that I have heard of. You can probably do a search on this board and find a pic, I know it has been posted before.

I found it much cheaper to bring my own beer. However, I do like having the mug here at home.

What is the cost of the beer mug and how does it work? I assume you can get ir refilled? What is the cost of the refills and do you have to carry the mug around?

The cost of the mug is $14.95. I believe the refills were around $5.60 or so which included the gratuity. You do not need to carry the mug around. When you finish your beer, turn the mug in to any bartender and they will give you a mug card. Next time you want a beer, turn the card in and you will get your beer in a mug. At the end of the cruise turn the card in and get a clean mug to take home.

The mugs are not on the Dream.

I thought I read here on another thread that since the Dream finally did get their beer on tap (or at least some beer on tap) that they do at last have the mugs. They definitely didn't have them the first few months the ship was cruising, though.

At last check the Dream still did not have the refillable mug program, but I have heard that they are planning to implement it.

The mug program is a pretty good money saver if you are a beer drinker (but it's also cheaper to bring your own!) I like how they offer the token/card now instead of having to carry around your mug with you.

To the OP--yes, it's a good value.

The mugs are now on the DReam. You can buy them on the phone with DCL.

I bought one for my 5/5 cruise, but reversed the charge once I found out that there were on 2 beers on tap on the Dream (can't remember which, but it was the general national brands with no flavor).

If that's the only beer they have on tap, I'd cancel the entire cruise!
