Can you take the beer mug into the dinning room? Also do the same pricing apply in there?

Thanks in Advance. My In Laws are planning on going on the next cruise with us and my father in law is a pretty heavy beer drinker.

I've never had them fill it in the MDR but I have walked in the door with one that I've had filled elsewhere. I think they will re-fill in the MDR, but there might be a delay in getting it back.

Yes you can, we have done it on 3 cruises and the waiter will get your beer mug filled in the MDR (or bring your token)

I've taken my beer mug into the dining room but I have not asked to have it filled there. I'll have to give that a try next cruise. I have found it is sometimes difficult to order beer in the dining room since the wait staff doesn't seem to really know what's on tap. They may have to go find out from someone. Since the beer mug only works for beer on tap, it could make it a challenge if you have a particular preference. We've never really had a good wait staff on DCL though so my experience may be different.

We would just ask for Bud Light and the waiter would bring the mug filled. Actually after the first night our waiters would just ask if we want Bud Light ;)
Sometimes it took a few minutes, but it was never a problem. It helps for sure to know what beer you want first, we knew after the first day what's available on tap.
If you ask for a mixed cocktail or glass of wine, they will also have to get it from the bar. I'm assuming they get it from some bar anyway, not the restaurant.

Our Asst Server had a laminated card in his pocket that showed which draft beers were available closest to each MDR. Some nights we carried the mug in half full, sometimes we just had the token, and sometimes our asst server just exchanged our empty mug for a token.

That server would get an extra tip from me. If any of our previous servers had such a card, they didn't seem to know about it.
I've acquire a taste for craft beer over typical mass produced domestics, which makes it more difficult for me since each of the bars seem to have a different variety. I can never remember which bar has which beer.
