I've been asked by some friends whether you can get Stella Artois in Orlando. They want to buy some for the room. Not being a beer drinker I don't know the answer. :)

Can you get it in a supermarket? Is it expensive? If you can't get it, what American beer is the closest? Thanks.

I can't remember seeing Stella in Walmart, but there is a wide range of lager type beer. I tend to buy either Budweiser or Miller Lite. I can't remember the cost, but it is similar in price to the supermarkets in the UK. Don't buy cans of beer from the Disney shops. It is extortionately priced. You get something like 8 cans at Walmart for the price of 1 can at Disney.

I'm not a beer drinker either but DW and her sister normally get a few bottles in when there from Walmart or Publix.
From what I remember price wise its comparable to over here. Their favourite one is Bud Ice Lite.

Being Belgian, we'd never buy Stella Artois, but if you do want a fairly decent beer that's got a bit more punch about it than the average weak beers that the Americans usually tend to produce, try Blue Moon. I'm pretty certain they sell it at Wallmart. They call it a Belgian style beer, and according to MrNeo it's really rather good (considering it's not a Belgian beer).

My brother in law and I had a few jugs of Blue Moon at the ESPN bar when we were watching the Everton/Arsenal game last August. They serve it with a slice of orange and it is really good. The result of the match was very disappointing so we had to have a few more jugs to drown our sorrows. We both woke up with terrible headaches the next morning. I don't know why.:confused3

Perhaps it was a bad orange I always get the dodgy lemonade or coke when I have a drink!!!!!

Was that when we beat Everton 6-1???? How did you find watching football in USA, everytime I go into a bar to watch it I end up with a random American telling me hes heard of Wayne Rooney and Pele!

Yes that was the game. It was good fun in the ESPN bar. They put the game on the big screen in there. There were about 20 Evertonians in the bar and a couple of Gooners. My brother in law and I stayed in there for about 7 hours chatting to all the Americans after the game who were all really friendly.
