beer drinker questions

What beers are on tap and is it worth the mug? we're debating bringing our own heinken or just buying the mug...

I hope someone corrects me if I am wrong but I do believe that the Magic now has Guiness on tap also since their renovations. That's what my DH drinks.

Guiness IS on tap........I know it's in Diversions. Heiniken is also on tap (I think) I drink Miller lite. My miller was 3.25 plus gratuity....3.75 total I think for a 20 oz mug. I'm pretty sure the Heini was 4.00. 12 oz Cans were 3.75 plus gratuity. I bring a case or so in my carry on for when i don't want to "lug the mug".

Bobby, You & my DH will probably get along real well on our cruise! A fisherman & a Guiness drinker...are you sure you weren't seperated from him at birth? LOL! Kathy

In Diversions on the Magic, they had Sam Adams, Guinness, and Yuengling on tap. Bud, Heineken and Miller Lite were available at the other bars and I believe you could get them at Diversions too.

DH lugged the mug and loved the mug.



He definitely got his money's worth and we have a nice souvenier. My beach bad did smell like Budweiser for quite some time, though.

I carried my mug each of the last 3 sailings.......they even ran out of my miller lite at 2 of the bars.........I guess i had too many.

Can you REALLY bring your own booze on the ship or do you have to hide it?
If you can, man, am I in my glory!! Please let me know.

Yes- you can bring your own. The negative is carrying it with you until you get your room on the ship (any ideas in making this easier would be greatly appreciated!) I think the mug is refillable for free once you buy it????

Anybody remember how much the Guinness was in Diversions? Also, where do you buy the mug and can get any type of refills.

The mug is not refillable for free...it just gets you an additional 4oz each time you refill. Since I'm not the beer drinker in the family you can't quote me on the # of oz for free!

We also bring alot of our (ok, DH's) beer with us. This year I am not bringing as much and restocking in ports. Much easier, last year we found the grocery store in St. Thomas, it was only a 10 minute walk from the ship and prices were = to what you pay in the states.

The beer mug you purchase I believe is a 20 ounce mug that can be refilled for the 16 ounce price. For my DH it will definately be worth it. (I think those are the correct ounces but it is something like that)
Also the soda is now free so I guess if you drink rum and coke and bring your own rum you'll be in business.

Just want to reccomend the Beer tasting in Diversions! DH and I tried it in May, it was fun tasting the new beers they have on board. I believe they also had Boddington's.

We also particiapted in the beer tastings and pub trivia in Diversions. They were lots of fun and informative.

The Magic also carried Newcastle in addition to the beers already noted. The CM who ran the beer tastings said that they really listen to requests. So, it might be worth your while to request that they carry certain beers before you sail.
