My Mom and Dad are meeting us for the Pirate and Princess Party at Magic Kingdom on Feb 15th. I am concerned about my Dad having the stamina to walk around until late in the evening and am wondering if there is anywhere at Magic Kingdom for him to sit at a bar or table and have a beer and watch a little TV?

Sounds sad I know, but I am not sure how much patience he will have for crowds and characters, and just want to know if there is anywhere we can "park" him in front of the TV with "coors lite" for an hour or so if we need to ;)

The Magic Kingdom is dry. Maybe he should skip the party? He could go to one of the resorts for a drink, but I'm not sure about a T.V.

I am hoping once he gets there he will love it. He has never been to WDW before and I know he will be amazed. I was more or less looking for somewhere he could sit for a while. I can always send him back to the Poly if he gets too wiped out.

Thanks for the info!:goodvibes

You could always put him on the monorail and send him to one of the three Magic Kingdom area resorts. They all have really nice bars to choose from.

Not sure if you can leave and come back for the parties though. If you have a wristband I don't think it would be a problem if we wanted to go take a break somewhere and come back.

On the plus side, the three other parks all serve alcohol so if he gets tired on the days you're there, that plan would definitely work!

Have fun! :wave2:

I would openly and honestly talk with your father about your concerns. I have a VERY grumpy father. He can't walk very far because of double total knee replacements. He refuses to get a wheelchair (male pride). He has his limitations. We go to various events with my father but more than likely, he'll want to sit in the hotel room or RV and read his book. He doesn't mind at all that we leave him alone because he wants us to have fun. Ask your father what he wants. If my father even remotely felt like he was "being a drag" on us havng a good time, he would not appreciate it.

When my girlfriend and I like to do some things in MK, we leave our husbands at the bar over in the Contemporary resort. He can walk over, the bartenders are fantastic, great view, great place to relax. One of you could walk him over if need be, he really can't get lost if he goes alone, sidewalk takes him right there.
