Has anyone from the US or Europe ever been to Tokyo Disneysea? If yes, what is it like? Is it mostly a waterpark or a normal Disneyland. And why Disneysea? Did they close Tokyo Disneyland and replace it with Disneysea? :guilty:

I haven't been there in ages, but it was pretty much along the lines of DL and MK. Same (or same name, and similar) rides, 'lands' etc. The oddest thing was how all the signs were in English, with Japanese in smaller print underneath. I would expect the opposite, as it was in Japan and all. And the bathrooms... well, I won't discuss that in polite company. :crazy2: Have they added to it, like the CA Adventure part of DL, but some kind of SeaWorld type park?

We went to TDL and TDS in June, 2004 and loved both. TDS was opened around the same time as DCA but was done with a lot more $$$. The details are incredible! It is not a water park just a normal Disney park with different themes. Let me know if you want more details. Although it has been 2 years I can try to recall what we did if you are interested.

Tokyo Disneysea is similar in a way to DCA, and compliments TDL very nicely. there are fewer rides but it's a very enjoyable expereince. they just opened TOT which helps quite a bit.

you can see photos from both parks on my Disney photo site
