This is the weather forcast for the night we have planned to attend the luau at the Poly.

high- 72
low - 52

If you've been before in cooler months, what do you think about eating out in the cold? We're leaning toward cancelling this, but we were really looking forward to it. We just don't think we'll be confortable eating in the cold. What do you think?

Where'd you get your forecast from? We're eating there this January and I've love to know what the weather's supposed to be like. What happens if it rains or snows (haha)??

Let us know if you go, if it was too cold, I've got reservations for Jan 1, 2004 at 5:15pm. We also haven't decided if we want to keep these or cancel.

Hi there,

We were at the Luau last Dec. and it was pretty chilly. And it was DOWN POUR, (Yea, in that rain, they STILL performed!:umbrella: ). We have ressies for the luau on 12/18 and this time, I'm going to be a little more prepared. I will bring something warm to wear!

Last year, we only had on capris and t-shirts w/ our lovely yellow ponchos. Once the show starts and the food starts coming out, you don't realize the temp., but we sat right up front and the wind kept blowing the rain onto us!

But its a GREAT show!!! And YUMMY FOOD!!!

Hope this helps, ENJOY!!!

We did the laua one year in mid-Jan but we were lucky to have a stretch of near 80degree weather each day we were there. Only needed pants and a sweatshirt that night. Last trip we near froze our hineys off at Fantasmic (in the 40's and that spray in our face) in early Feb. Moral of the story, there's just no predicting when in comes to Jan-Feb weather!

How adequate is the overhead shelter during a rain storm? Is there much protection is the wind is also blowing?

Hi there,

The place is covered, except the stage area. If you sit up front (closer to stage), the rain WILL hit you. At our table, a family of 4 sat at the head of the table, and they got wet from the wind and rain. It does get cold and wet if it rains.

They have seating towards the back, but they're regular tables and chairs. The seats closer to the stage are more authentic, a long LOW table and LOW chairs, but you share the table w/ about 10 or 12 people.

Hope this helps! ENJOY!
