Hi, We will be going to the party in October and just wanted to see what you thought of it and any suggestions on what is a must see at the party.

oops, did you mean to post this in the Restaurant board? You'll get more responses in the Theme parks board. There are also several threads on the party in the Theme parks board as well.

Anyway, I've been 4 times, including last year and we love going to the parties.

We love the fireworks and parade.

We love seeing the characters in their costumes.

We love riding the rides with minimal lines.

We love trick or treating, well my kids do.

My kids love dressing up.

We just love the whole atmosphere (the deocrations, lights, smoke and music).

Hi...I agree...it is fablous...there didn't seem to be any part that stood out because it was all fablous...the parade and fireworks are a must...and when we rode buzz lightyear...we were the only ones...it was so neat!!! Have fun!

I spoke with a reservationist today and she said that the not-so-scary-party tickets were not on sale yet. Were you able to buy them already? She told me May or June. We will be there in October and have never been to the party, so I thought it would be fun.

I've been twice now ('05 and '06). '06 seemed much more chaotic to me for some reason. The lines for everything were really long... pictures, trick or treating, some of the rides, etc.
Anyhow -- it is worth attending at least once. Be sure to grab a good spot for the parade -- and watch for the headless horseman!!! He was cool!! parade is really cute too.
Fireworks are great as expected, but personally I found the mix of music to be too "rock-ish" -- considering it was Halloween, and a lot of children would be there, I was disappointed that they coudln't find a way to make the music eerie without making it scary (and VERY loud). I'm sure the teens loved it. If you can, try and grab a spot near the castle -- they beam images on the castle, the kids liked that.
And make sure to eat!! We got caught up in a few things, then realized we hadn't had dinner yet. Some restaurants that were open had already taken their last patrons for the evening.
Some characters I have never seen during the day were there as well (Abu the monkey from Aladdin, Tarzan, for example).
And in '05, we were lucky enough to be one of the last people to get a picture with Mickey as a Scarecrow. He was on the porch of the building to the left of the train station when exiting the park. Don't know if he was there in '06.
Also - check on-line prior to MNSSHP. A lot of websites scan the park guide and make it available for you to view. It's good to get an idea of the layout for the night -- where the candy stops are, dance parties, shows, etc -- there's a lot to see/do and it helps to make the most of it if you have a game plan for the night.

We went for the first time last September, and the night we went it was quite crowded, but I still say it was worth it! My advice, get there right when it starts. Seems obvious, but you would be surprised at how easy it was to get around for the first hour of the party, and then how it filled suddenly with masses of people. Don't miss the parade, it is the standout of the evening. The headless horseman rides very fast, he is first so keep your eyes peeled. I didn't even have time to press the shutter button on my digital camera!
Have a blast!

We went last year and it was pretty crowded, but everyone had lots of fun! The kids really enjoyed the face painting, dressing up in their costumes, and of course trick or treating. The parade and fireworks were GREAT!!
