been to Atlantis?

We are heading down to Atlantis at the beginning of March and wondered if it was a gay friendly resort. We have not been to the Bahamas and don't really know what to expect. Certainly when we go to WDW we know how well we will be received, but i am wondering about the Bahamas. thanks.

Seriously, I have friends who have been and had no problems, although they arent big on PDA's so I dont know if it was just because no one noticed or what it was.

The Bahamas isn't really a gay friendly place. If you saw the HBO documentary about Rosie O'donell's gay cruise, they were welcomed by protesters in the Nassau.

I'd be careful, just in case.

Yep, be alert. It's not just the Bahamas that have problems.

St. Kitts in particular is not welcoming. Friends of mine went and were enjoying the beach (with absolutely no PDA of any sort). When approached by some local men, they politely rebuffed their "come on." The men went on to actually harrass them (What's the matter, are you ******? sort of thing) until my friends left the beach. That wasn't the only incident there. Has really put me off from visiting that particular island.

On the other hand, we've been to several islands (St. Lucia, Tortola, Barbados, etc.) with no problems what so ever. We engaged in no PDA at any time though.

I really wouldn't equate Atlantis with the Bahamas.

It's kind of like equating Disney World with Kissimmee.

Atlantis is a beautiful resort that welcomes everyone.

The Bahamas is more like a third world island offering cheap T-shirts, bad deals on straw hats, and ganga!

You are right, I have been to both. Atlantis is beautiful! I love their watersides (my favorite part) I still wouldn't return... just my opinion!
