Hi All.....It has been about 8 yrs or so since last visit....I had the whole dis thing down back then, how to best use fast passes, where to go first, etc....now, I am prepping for my first visit and I feel like so much has changed...any advice/insight on how to navigate? going as a solo///do I use the genie plus? any advice would be welcome...thanks!

Genie plus is not required, but it replaced the fastpass system. So, if you want to use those shorter lines (now called Lightening Lanes), then you will need to purchase genie plus. There are some pinned threads here on the boards that can explain genie in more detail and how to use it.

Otherwise, I just suggest relaxing, doing what you want, and have fun.

It really depends on the length of your trip and what you want to get done. There is no generic answer. I go solo at least twice a year and don't get Genie+ but I don't mind standing in lines and I also don't mind skipping rides if I think the line is too long. I always have either PHs or an AP and always have at least 4 days in the parks. I find with 4 full days and the ability to hop, I can pretty much ride every ride I want to ride and still go back to the resort at some point during the day and rest and still have a couple of TS meals if I want to. Mind you, the important part of that is I said all the rides I want. I don't want to ride every ride in every park, some hurt me (Space Mountain I'm looking at you) some don't appeal to me - mostly kid type rides in MK. If my trip is longer than 4 days, I could ride every ride in every park (again if I wanted to, which I don't) via stand by lines and watch shows and still take a break every day.

It really just depends on your tolerance for standing in lines and what you want to do.

I am right there with you! Been pre-covid since we went. Planning for May of 2025 now.
I feel like a total newbie! Everything has changed
I wouldn't put too much effort into figuring out how things work now. There will likely be more changes over the next 15 months.
